Before your very eyes, I will transform this P1 Bio into a fully painted and ready to go Bio helmet which is a commission piece for UglyMoFo.

Prep the eyes and cut hole in the side for the laser wires:

Dremmeled out the eyes:

Washed off all the resin dust and scrubbed off all the mold release with soapy water:

I'm glad the bio made it to you okay Jason. I'm sure it will look great. I know you'll be much happier with this casting for wearing Jarred. If anyone is looking for one of these, feel free to PM me.

I add on layers on layers to create a multicolored weathered and worn look. If you look at the armor in the movie P1, you can see some green hues and gold adds more depth.

Starting with green

Burnt orange

Gold

Silver

Dark and light silver

Close up you can really see the different colors, but at 2 feet away all the different colors blend together very nicely.

:) That is awesome Jason! All those layers blend perfectly, really looks like it's been left outside for a long time. Great job on the lasers too! Can't wait to see more!

In the close up pictures, I thought I was looking at a rock. :)
Really nice paintjob, mixing the colours like that brings a whole other depth to it. ;)

Thanks crawjaw! My Canon takes great macro pics! The KJP1 is my favorite Bio to paintup...
A macro lens makes all the difference. I have the 105mm Nikon (great for insects) but sometimes for model work I wish I had the 60mm. If I ever buy a full frame Nikon I'll be sorted.
I'll need to keep an eye for more of your work. Splendid stuff.

Added some more weathering, shading, blast marks, etc. Two things left: spray a coat of Krylon Clear Satin on it to seal the paint, and hot glue the mesh lenses. I took some photos of it next to my own KJP1 just to show the difference.

Nice work Jason. I picked up a couple of things Im gonna try on my next bio paint-up. Nice tutorial. They both look great! Cheers man!

I'm new to the weathering technique. Are your multicolor layers sprayed on lightly or "washed" on or what?
Fantastic job.
