UFO tv show

Hi all, one of my favorite shows when I was a kid was UFO. Besides having a major crush on Gabrielle Drake :love I really liked the Interceptors. Was there ever a kit or have any of you guys made one? Would love to see them if you have, thanks.

Bandai in Japan did a styrene Interceptor and I believe a Skydiver. Imai did the Shado Mobile, Sky 1 and a large Moonbase. The Bandai kits were better overall then the Imai ones, which tended to be more toy-like. I think Bandai also did a UFO (very tough to find one)

I have one of the Interceptors and it is a good kit for its size (about 1/72 scale). But it is expensive to find one. The Comet Miniatures based companies in the UK I believe have done a couple Interceptors in different scales with I believe the most recent one being from ENA models. They are expensive, but they are also BIG. Product Enterprise as I recall took the smaller Comet Interceptor and used it as the basis for a diecast model of one, but that was in 2004-05 and they have long been discontinued.

Imai also put out the Interceptor kit which features a firing missile. For a more sturdy model, you can get a Dinky 351 and accurize it. Dinky's model is made as a die-cast toy but all toys have the potential to be accurate models. The replacement missiles are also available if you get a used one. You may also want to search out the decal set.

As for Lt. Ellis; there are a few items out there. Konami made a miniature pvc figure a few years ago, Scoop made a 1/6 scale figure two decades ago and there is even a recent talking doll from Product Enterprise. The doll is OOP, but still available on Amazon and eBay.

I've been working on my studio scale SHADO Mobile on and (mostly) off for a year now, hope to have time soon to complete it, and start the 19" interceptor I just bought!

Dinky Interceptors are quite accurate in general shape. Like many Dinky toys. In fact, the Dinky FAB 1 and Thunderbird 2 take the shapes of their respective originals far more seriously than any 300 dollar replica I've seen, most of which take appalling liberties with general shape, and look far more like toys than the toys do.

I'm in exactly the same mode, mostly off. :lol I started mine about 3 yrs ago but only started back up again about a month ago. It's a slow process. Mine is approx 1/24th scale as I enlarged measurements from the Dinky Shado Interceptor and drew rough templates.

Fishnet shirts? On the women? Well that certainly got my attention as a kid. :D

The Product Enterprise UFO and Interceptor set (die cast) from around 2003 is pretty sweet too... I have my pics of those around here somewhere. :)

UFO is my all time favorite show! I'd still watch it every night, but it puts the wife to sleep! (she's not right!)
I've picked up "most" of the available models, as well as started studio scale builds of the Mobile and Interceptor. Now if my boss would just mail my weekly check to the house, I could get a lot more done on them!

I'm kinda surprised that Konami put out a line of toys for this show. They've really branched out from just doing video games.
