Was that at MGM Studios? I went there around 20 yrs ago and they had it, or one just like it, for sell in one of their prop shops. It was supposedly screen used and around $150 if I recall. I so wanted it but my better half wasn't going for it.:cry

Actually, it was in the animation building on the main lot here in Burbank. They also have a couple of the Sentry pistols on a case in the Archives lobby.

I've recently bought this nice resin recast of the Palomino pistol used by Capt. Holland and Lt. Pizer at the beginning of the movie.
I would be very grateful for any detailed pics of the screen-used original which I could use as reference for my build...

All the kits I've seen never show the top rails. Are those included or did you have to scratchbuild them yourself?

The top rails weren´t included. I scratchbuilt them from 6mm aluminium sticks I bought in a home improvement store. Curving them was quite a challenge.
First a guy I know offered to bend them on a professional sheet metal folder, but it turned out, that this didn´t really work.
Then I used a pipe wrench and tried out bending one master rail (which left quite a few sticks in the trash bin) and then copied the first one which approximately fit. I then cut them with a dremel to the appropriate length. If you hold the gun in your hand you really can see, that these are definitely not machine made
However, this was my first try at fully doing a prop on my own (unless the basic resin model of course).

Resurrecting an old thread- just finished the mold for this. The gray primer one is an original unfinished Disney prop. Top rails are next.
