Twin Peaks Season THREE

If he does it would be nice to have it on a station that takes risks with content like FX or even AMC since they have done edgy stuff.

Nonono! Not AMC. They pocket production's budgets and meddle with their shows productions a lot (that's why Frank Darabont was kicked out of The Walking Dead, remember?). I say go with one of the movie channels, like HBO, Showtime and Cinemax (that way Lynch can go as dark as he did with the Fire Walk With Me movie and have that dark consistent through the show).

I'm really stoked that Lynch wants to show the town of Twin Peaks circa 2013. In fact, I think it'd great to go back to the town to see what's happened to it over the years. I can imagine that after the destruction of the mill, the town pretty much dried up, most of the people who used to live there moved away or passed away. The town's economy went down the toilet due to the opening of a big-box store (like Wal-Mart). And, I can imagine that the death of Laura Palmer has become both a morality tale and a ghost story to the modern youths of the town. And if BOB is coming back into the mix, then that ghost story may be coming true yet again (and maybe not only BOB targets another youth, but maybe the spirit of Laura Palmer tries to help stop BOB from destroying that youth's life like how he did to her).

Originally Audrey was to have survived and a plot line that got recycled into Mulholland Drive (amnesia), Coop woudl have been out of the Lodge in the first episode, then a card would read "10 years later" to find him retired from the Bureau, and the local Twin Peaks Pharmacist.

The idea that season 3 starts off in the Lodge with the older Cooper/Man from Nowhere/Laura, and that he's been IN the Lodge since 1992... chilling and compelling!!

I thought Audrey's story wasn't the one of the woman with amnesia, but the young girl coming to Hollywood to try to get into the movies (that's what I read, anyways).

Hope it happens, but darned if I can remember how the second season ended And I never missed an episode. Guess ill have to brush up.

I was actually just in the town where Twin Peaks was filmed, this weekend. It's one of the fastest growing areas in WA state. Much of the town retains its small town character, but the build-up on the outskirts is both nice for the folks there (and property values) and kinda sad.

They're also changing the area around the falls because of the hydroelectric plant nearby (which was conveniently off camera). The "Double-R", by the way, was just a set on the interior, although the exterior is still there and the place is full of Twin Peaks memorabilia. The Road House isn't far from there either, but it too was a set.

Anyway, I'd just as soon they not reboot it. I'd rather have an official closure, but I managed to satisfy myself by just putting my own ending on the story.

I should re-watch that. It's on Netflix Instant for those who don't have the DVDs.

wow that's cool I was just talking about this very thing with a friend of mine. I dunno if I'd like to see a reboot but I would love to see a sequel. What happened to Dale Cooper/ Bob? What did he do next? could be a great analysis of the anti-hero good guy turned bad guy thing. wow yeah bring it on!

Actually, there's a problem in that several of the actors are dead now. Jack Nance and the guy who played BOB, come to mind.

I just can't see Lynch getting back into mainstream entertainment grind. He seems so disillusioned and frustrated with the process these days.

Maybe as a web production he could the freedom he would want to tackle such a project. Like BSG: Blood and Chrome perhaps.

As much as I like this idea I think Lynch has bigger thing in him than this. The TV folk couldn't see what he was trying to achieve with the TV cut of Mulholland drive. I can't see them expecting him to do anything other than a rehash of Twin Peaks. I bet that's NOT what he has planed.

Nick Daring, I'd wouldn't say disillusioned. I guess, hip to the medium.

Stations and production houses make shows companies what to advertise during. Not what people what to see.

Ah, but what about the mirror shots, or the spirit eventually leaving Cooper? You couldn't really do that stuff.

Bob IS dale cooper. Bob inhabits someone else and the mirror shots are of the new inhabitant person looking at an evil Dale Cooper-Bob :confused :confused :confused

Would be fantastic if it comes off, but like you say Lynch has to be allowed to do it his way, makes you wonder how much TV execs messed with the original show. If I remember rightly did'nt Cooper end up with Bob / demon in him in the final episode? So possible more people would have died in the interveining years?

Would love to see this come to fruition, but doubt it will ever happen. I watched PEAKS from the beginning when it aired. Ya never know. Stranger things have happened I guess.
