Tutorial: How to build a stormtrooper helmet for less than 10 GBP FINISHED see Pg9

Re: Tutorial: How to build a stormtrooper helmet for less than 10 GBP FINISHED see Pg

Well, Sourdoh, I am glad I did stick with it and "bring that bad boy home. :)

It was the first thing I ever scratch built. The wife said to me, "If you can do it for a 'tenner' then, okay!" I wanted it sooooo bad that, I did do it for £10 and I haven't looked back! Seriously though, you are absolutely right. it does make the outcome sweeter and I thank you so much for reading as well as looking at the pics!

This is very inspiring. I want a DIY mask project to do with my son [11 years old] and I think we will give it a try. I am not inferring that it will be easy or our results will be nearly as impressive. We will have fun in the process. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

Hi RavenJackson, if you're doing the project for your son, you may want to scale it to around 87.5%, I did Boba Fett's bucket for my son (around the same age) and I think that is the scale I ended up with. The beauty of a paper build is that it's so easy to print in scale... the kid-sized Stormtrooper bucket would end up about 10.5" height, depth & width (vs. 12" for full scale).

Dude. That is awesome. I dont suppose you have the templates?
I would like to make some small death trooper ones for my twins.

That is really amazing. I am getting set for my very first pep build, and if its even 50% as good as yours I'll be happy!

Hi lokey69666,
You can find the templates and models for pepakura here:
SpaceCowboy - Symmetrical ANH Trooper 3D model for use in Pepakura Atlanthia didn't use pepakura model though, he used a 6-view drawing (also on that link) and built it from scratch!!!

Re: Tutorial: How to build a stormtrooper helmet for less than 10 GBP FINISHED see Pg

Thanks everyone! :eek

I can only say to those that asked for the templates, You should find the template I used, at the bottom of post # 206 on page nine of this thread. You can easily copy the picture and enlarge the squares to 1 inch and then print them out. Please remember that the gridded images are exactly symmetrical, so I went to great lengths to add the irregularities back in to my helmet build, including the "bump" under the left eye as you look at the front of the helmet, and the larger bulged tubing on one side, compared to the other. Good luck and please ask if you require any further info about this build. I am only too happy to help! :)

This tutorial just made my jaw fall from my face! :eek
Amazing how you made an impressive replica with that little budget. Really amazed me. Great talent you've got there, and I can't wait to see what else you will create.

Re: Tutorial: How to build a stormtrooper helmet for less than 10 GBP FINISHED see Pg

can you give the templates?

There were no templates, he did it all freehand.

There are several stormtrooper peps out there, just do a search or have a look at the pep sticky.

There are no templates, as DaddyfromNaboo has pointed out. I will again post this image that I used. Each of the grids need to be printed at 12 inches square to give the accurate size for the build. If you are building for a child, then I would recommend you decrease the grid size to about 80% of that. Here is the image......again.......:lol

As for the sticking the dome, are you referring to the internal structure right at the start of the build??? If so, that was just done with sticky tape so that it could be relatively easily removed at a later stage.
Hope that helps!

That maybe so, but YOU'RE still the Daddy!!!!!:lol:lol:lol
