True JackSparrow rings (from junk yard)

I guess first is the introductions, My name it Thomas and I'm the guy that is doing the sparrow rings. I just got my membership here so now I can post. Relicmaker is on vacation so that is why there was a lack of posts.
Also since I’m new I can't post in the junkyard, I hope its ok to post my progress here?

Anyways there was a blip in the skull ring, the jeweler forgot to modify the crown (the top part that holds the gem) even after I paid for it. So now he has to correct it on the original. He says it will be ready in about a week. I did take a photo of the wax before it was sent. In addition I was not just sitting around :eek I have carved the gold “stolen ring” it will take a 9 caret amethyst and I am making two in 14k gold. I will offer in silver and gold plate as well. And YES these are being made but a jeweler so they will be made in any size you wish. I really welcome any feedback even if you tell me it sucks and fix this part.
As far as the skull ring if you see any thing you want changed now is the last chance…it was polished before it was sent (little bits removed)

I have been trying to track down a reliable source of jade for the dragon ring. I can get jade but lots of times it’s marbled or has color variant or the dome top varies... Since the dragon is formed over the stone I need to get a 100% match for the jade so these can be made.
Since the stones are hand made, the jeweler has said that each ring might have to be “custom” made for the stone. I have a few samples on route and as soon as I get these I can continue work on it.
In addition I have been trying to determine what people might want on this. To be screen accurate the ring is very tall, and it might be a bit odd for everyday wear. I think I’m going to offer two versions one that is much shorter one that is screen accurate.

You rock man! I see a lot of errors in the "stolen ring" as for the skull ring I seem to be spot on...:eek anyone else got any tips or critique?

Ring molds are looking good! Are you going to be attempting the gold flower button ring? That seems to be the most difficult.

My recommendation is to try to stay true to the movie prop sizes. When you reduce the size down to fit an everyday ring it loses the "feel" to original rings which you initially set out do replicate.

So many different ring makers are now offering all of these rings but they all vary and are quite different from the movie props. They also reduce the sizes down and that makes them lose the authenticity.

This was my attempt to making the Stolen Ring over a year ago using polymer clay and a real amethyst stone.

I also attempted to make the jade stone out of polymer clay but eventually gave up!

What price range are you looking at charging for the plated and precious/semi-precious versions?

Thanks for the complements I’m not sure on the button ring; I really don’t know how to inlay gold and diamonds in to onyx or whatever the black stone is. That is the biggest hurdle to over come for me. Plus I would wear these rings everyday and I just can’t see myself putting that flower ring on.

As far as price I’m guessing that in will be in the same area as the other sparrow fine jewelry rings, Though with mine they will be genuine stones (unlike that other makers) and correct modeling. I might be able to lower cost if enough are ordered as then I’d be filling the thing that makes rings (melts the metal and spins it) The big cost is to the jeweler putting together the rings after my molds. I just have no idea how to set stones, cast silver and such.
The gold stolen ring is really heavy, it’s one ounce of gold. But again if there is interest I’ll make silver and/or plate them. I was given a guess of 75$ to plate in gold.

Think they're just inset with black enamelling.

OK guys and gals what do you think?? its not 100% done it needs some clean up. The jewler just put a quick ageing on the silver so I vould take a photo...

The skull ring looks fantastic. I'm slightly interested, but price will be a major decision-maker. Also, I'd like to see someone wearing it, so I can get a good idea of the overall size - I think the various reproductions so far have all been slightly different, but I may be wrong.

I got the first cast back today wow I love it (it's OK to praise myself right??):lol and as you asked for here it is on, its a size 12. And my jeweler mentioned this since each one will be a custom cast upon request ( NO extra charge) I can carve a name or initials in to the band. This way it will be in the cast showing it was made for you

I hope i can hijack my own thread... actually I like to carve bone it is where it all started. Here are two of mine the first is a prop from After the Sunset and the other is just a Maori carving. Both of these are in buffalo bone.
