Trooper helmet kits question

Okay, I dropped the ball on this and am out of the loop.

IF one were looking for the most ANH, sharp, wonky, asymmetrical, eye bump n' all stormtrooper helmet kit, what is the closest one can currently get?

Id say TE2. Its often named as the one for accuracy.

I think TE2 is the best bet on that. Either that or AP, but the AP should be a little softer due to the ABS. I have a TE2 and its beautiful

Though the TE2 is good, it comes from damaged molds and need rework - a little filling here and there. And I'd heard a rumor that he'd stopped making helmets.

Well, you could always try to contact him. It may just be a rumor. He's on the FISD and MEPD boards. Not sure of his username, but I think it's Guns or something. Anyways... I'm sure someone can forward you to him.

The AP is a GOOD ABS helmet, but is idealized and a bit smaller than the rest. I have one and if you trim it differently than the suggestion trim marks, trimming the neck opening larger and position the face more accurately with the back, you can get a pretty good looking trooper.

There is also the GINO, damn well near impossible to get, not to mention quite expensive.

You can also go with the MR Laws idealized version of the Dave M *Set For Stun*, I believe, whereas the others are the Brian R helmet.

There are lines and points in the pulls of the AP kits as a guide to trimming and drilling for assembly but they aren't place for the best results.

That actor who portrayed that Trooper that Obi-wan Jedi mind tricked is named Anthony Forrest. I met him a few years ago where he was the Grand Marshall at a local parade. He's a nice, and cool guy.

I can tell you they are not. There is damage on the back and cap mold at the front near the brow, which has to be filled. That damage is deterioration of the mold from before he bought it and is not on any original helmets.

its not due to the ABS... its the higher gauge plastic. ABS is better plastic all around... AP just went for a higher gauge plastic because it is more durable.

Aside from having to fill in areas on the the TE2, the only problem with TE2 is that styrene is very cheap plastic, and breaks easy. Also, as Gino would say... anything that is not an AP is a recast.
