Tron: Legacy, "The Digital Frontier" Book

Hey folks, sorry I wasn't able to get the scan up last night. I did get the cover scanned but I haven't had a chance to clean it up yet or setup the print bleeds. I should be able to get it done by Friday at the latest. If Gerald's scan works for everyone just let me know and I will save myself the grunt work!

I wait for good things to come :)

Found the source image used for flynn, and I found a better binary cover image as well. I'm all set. Will be done with the D23 in a few days.

Hi folks,

My apologies for not getting back to you all sooner. I have the documents scanned but I haven't cleaned them up as I just don't have the time with two jobs and an infant. The cover is setup to scale, with the correct measurments for each portion, using the measurements I posted previously and it's at 600 DPI. I would recommend recreating the whole cover save the cover image and the rear image if possible as printing a solid black is always going to look better than printing a scanned black.

Anyways, I'm uploading it now but it will take awhile as the ZIP with all the files is almost 1GB. As soon as I get it though I will post the link.

Thanks for the patience, my apologies for leaving all of you hanging.

Quite alright, and thanks so much for what youve done, and what you are doing, I for one really appreciate it, and I'm sure many others do as well. Thanks a lot!

Hey guys,

Thanks for the patience! So Yousendit and Megaupload both crash repeatedly on me when I try and upload the ZIP file. I did find another solution though.

I don't know if any of you are familiar with Dropbox or not but it's a free file sharing service and I use it all the time to share files with friends and coworkers. Anyways, I was able to get the ZIP uploaded to Dropbox no problem and if you guys want to join I can just invite you to the folder and you can download the file directly from Dropbox. Is that a solution that will work for everyone? I just don't want to keep you folks waiting any longer, especially since every other service I've tried keeps crashing. I am swearing off of Mega Upload completely.

Thoughts? If you're cool with Dropbox PM me your e-mail addy and I will send you an invite to the folder the ZIP is in.

Ok, the file is uploaded to Dropbox and ready for downloading. If any of you want acdess to the folder shoot me your e-mail and I will send you an invite.

The ZIP file contains the cover, the interior page scans and the Digital Frontier page 75 image from the ARG that can be used to line the bottom of the hollow portion like it is in the real ARG book.

Hmmm...

Okay, since I'm planning to just print the cover and wrap it around a different book, I'm trying to estimate the number of pages needed for the cover to look right.

At a depth of 1.5625", the book would need to be about 330 pages long assuming 100 weight coated cover paper (which is about 0.0095" thick). If we're talking 100 weight coated book paper (about 0.0048"0, then it's about 650 pages.

Time to hit the library with a ruler.

Thanks for the scans Robbie, they're huge! After some quick color adjustments and type setting, it'll be ready to print. Now if only Kinko's wasn't so hit and miss on their print quality.

I've gotten back to all my PM's. A few of you need to PM me your e-mail addy's but the rest of you have invites in your inbox. Good luck!

Thank you for the scans Robbie. Still waiting on the Jeff Bridges picture I ordered from another source to arrive.

Everything else is finished, well sorta. I wish I could figure out the exact scale of the movie version of the book. My measurements from image games are 6.65 inches H/ 9.836 V- but it doesnt sit well with me. The spine on the movie book is thicker than the 42e as well. I guess I need to hunt some blank books down to sort out a size that will work.
