It's awesome!!
Loved it so much after the midnight viewing, the moment I got home from the theater I downoaded the album from Amazon.
Unfortunatley, one of the coolest tracks in the movie - heard in Castor's nightclub - has been mysteriously ommited from the album, however I read that it was released internationally and I was able to get an MP3 of it to add to my album.
All-in-all, the mix of orchestral score and digital beats blends far better in this score than what had been attempted for the "Matrix" films.
Kudos to Daft Punk for such a phenominal album!:thumbsup :thumbsup

Listen to "End of Line" and try not to think of Escape From New York. Love the soundtrack, but then again I like Techno.

That's not the track used when they're approaching the portal, is it? Because that music, along with the visuals, screamed Blade Runner to me.

Man I'm glad to see this thread. I was humming the end credits all the way home and picked up the album today. But, most of the tracks all sound the same. I was a little disappointed. The end credits music is awesome.

Wow..

I guess that's one opinion! I thought the tracks all sounded pretty different, and loved it all.

And by the way, there are VARIOUS tracks not on the soundtrack.
It has 22, and my ultimate has 30 tracks on it, and that is without the 2 remixes I have now too.

22 on original
5 viral released
amazon bonus track
2 itunes bonus tracks

Love them all!

And yes, there are VERY obvious vibes of blade runner, john carpenters music as a whole, and various others! I love that! Takes me right back to the 80's, and all the sampled sounds (like cd skips, errors, etc) are a perfect electronic symphony that I never thought I'd hear. It's like a nerdgasm for the ears! Can't stop playing it all.

EDIT:
Nevermind.. I guess there are now 31! Nokia apparently released a track only for its users. I don't have that one yet. *shrug* Doesn't sound like one I need though.

I want to get the Ultimate now, because that soundtrack hasn't left my player since I got it! I think it's my fav since the Bladerunner soundtrack!
I've never heard such a great blending of electronic & orchestral music- Beautiful arrangments. Kudos to Daft Punk AND the London Symphony :thumbsup

Oooh yeah, that soundtrack is awesome!

I was just about to restart it, and the wife´s got it on her MP3-player on continuous play. Talk about a great soundtrack ;) But DP sadly was kicked from the best motion picture soundtrack category for the AA´s this year, AFAIK :(

WHAT!!!!!!??!?!?!?!?!??!?! :angry

I can understand True Grit not being nominated because all they used was variations on the old hymn "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms", but Tron used all original music from scratch! Gotta give DP some credit!

**** the Oscars. They overlooked Tron on just about everything but 'sound editting'

Downloaded the sountrack today from Amazon to put on the iPod too. :D

So much win with this album. Best thing I've heard all year. The mix of electronic and orchestral music is nothing short of revolutionary. I think that should be oscar-worthy alone.

It's explained in a review on Amazon. You have to get the UK version for one thing.

I got the 2 disc version from ebay for like $10. 27 tracks total. I enjoy it quite a bit.
This movie has the best soundtrack in recent memory. I have the feeling the movie would have just been "ok" to me if it weren't for the score.
It's one of my favorite movies now, by the way.

The song that plays when they're at the portal (the one that continues through with the destruction of the portal) is called "Flynn Lives."

After that, the track that follows is "Sunrise Prelude" and "Finale."
