Tron Legacy RINZLER helmet!!!

believe, indeed I am sure that those who look like holes / dimples are just reflections, I was already a problem at the beginning because of the reflections, as the shiny black helmet, it seemed that the end parts that go down to the tip , were concave, but it was just a reflex.
Anyway thanks for the suggestions, always welcome, given the complexity of the project and the difficulty in obtaining images.
See you soon with updates

Heres a screenshot of my desktop for another reference picture. Yes I was also thinking the holes could be a reflection but I guess the pattern they were in made me think they were holes. In this picture, it looks like the detailed parts are all flush and just separated by lines. I'll do my best to help obtain more images but Rinzler is a hard one to find! :lol

SI helmet is absolutely smooth, except for lines that delineate the visor, I have been made for this very reason, and that is what I do, this is the step.
I am removing the video images from the film, but since moving frames, it is difficult to see well.

Oh I agree! I am trying to get some decent screen caps for you but it is very difficult to get a good still shot!

ok here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOWY8Cg0hxg
at 1:09 to 1:14 you get a decent 360 view so if you can get good screencaps form the movie at this point I would be able to brighten and add more contrast in photoshop if you want. I can also get the screencaps if you have no way of doing so.

decent profile view where you can see the chin parts shape clearly,

Thank you very much for the work you are doing.
The video on youtube is very grainy though, the best film that I have which I have already checked out several images.

No problem, I love helping people out, especially people whos work I greatly admire! :cool

I must admit, I was wrong
I extracted the sequence from the film, frame by frame, and I slowed to get a good look at those holes, and in fact are just the pits, you see well below the helmet in the movement, are not reflected.
Thanks PUNISHER, did you notice me.
YouTube - Rinzler

a fantastic job, thank you very very much.
I think these pictures are enough to finish the job, the hardest part is the back, but I think the only image available is the one that I've captured from the film. I now have enough information to finish the helmet
Thanks again PUNISHER.
P.S. in one of the last images we see reflected in the helmet Rinzler, the face of a man with glasses and bafffi, probably a trader, during the filming. Eheheh

No problem at all! Its my pleasure to help! Why go out of my way you may wonder? I was going to build this helmet myself but since I moved I have no room at all and had to leave the majority of my tools behind along with my vacuformer so its nearly impossible given my lack of space and tools to even start so the best I can do is at least help out with the creation of a perfect rinzler helmet.

I found what I think is the screen used helmet's pics here and I lightened them up and photoshopped some of the reflections out.
I noticed there is yet another vent hole design under the ear light. I'm still trying to fins a decent picture of the back but so far no luck :-/

Heres a little comparison I did also to some thing that look a little off to me after looking at his helmet for so long. What do you think?

I had noticed something on the bottom, now with this picture fill, it is clear that there are other holes, and also a lineal descendant

I will never stop thanking you for the great work you're doing to me!
Seeing the comparison that you made, I am a little removed, because it seems everything is wrong, in fact I made myself a picture for comparison and all part of linne is to be reviewed.
I superimposed a picture of the helmet with one of my last, I have highlighted in red lines of the original, the lines of my black and yellow ones in the drawing that I have always used as a model derived from the original photo.
The part that worries me most are the curves at the top where the lights are, because seeing the comparison, I should lower them a lot, and would be a complicated thing, but then saw the front view more overlapping images, the curves seem good, while the side is still to be reviewed, but that is not very problematic.
Unfortunately, the picture is often deceptive and hard to decide based on them.

You are welcome my friend.:)
On a positive side at least now you can make it even more perfected!
I wonder if the side curves are too high on your model OR could it be that the two pictures I compared arent in the exact same angle? This IS a very tricky helmet but I'm sure you will do it the best you can and I will also continue gathering every bit of rinzler information that I can. I just wish that I would have done this sooner to save you the trouble of having to go back and rework the helmet so late into the sculpting process. To me, the front angle seems like yours is not as rounded as the one in the picture. Depending on what materials you used for the sculpt at this point, you could use a band saw to "shave" off the excess material of the top curves.

Ive been working on a mini sculpt of the helmet from clay just for fun and after I saw that I added the line detail of the lower back side. It completely changed the look of the helmet to me. My sculpt isnt 100% accurate but hopefully you can see what I think the bottom side of the helmet looks similar to.
