A decent looking, male-sized disc is a prop I've been hunting for years. Love what you've done so far with the electronics, being able to switch colors so that it can be anyone's disc is very nice!

* as I stated though.. he is ASKING about the 'MALE' version...

@ new video posted:

I'd like to know more about the 'electronics'... seems VERY close to some of the lightsaber 'boards' out there...

'neopixels' make everything better! LOL :)

Clutch

What gap are you talking about? the inner 'C' ring? or something else having a 'gap'?

I cant see a switch in the video...

but the inner circle is NOT complete (just how the toy/body comes) its always been a "C" shaped 'ring'... (and only a true 'window' on one side too! :( )

No, I'm talking about if you laid it flat and looked at it from the side. There is a quarter inch gap between the top and the bottom. It's in his video on how to change the battery. Looks like other details are wrong too but I doubt he's striving for accuracy. Still a cool disc to play around with.

Gap here.

Ahh....

totally missed that! (thanks)

yeah.. thats not good!

cram-fu backfired on him I guess! :)

Just learned that is version one and the gap is because of one, too-big speaker. Version two has two smaller speakers and the gap has been reduced.

Nice!

Is there a link/place where you are getting/seeing more pics?

I am curious as to how he did all the pressure/touch electronics stuff... :)

Here is the link or your can see on Etsy as well

Does anyone know what the screen-accurate diameter of a male disc is? Trying to find out before I reach out to SKarmory with some questions.

Also, is it just me, or does the inner ring on the SKarmory disc look a little too narrow? It doesn't seem to have the vertical notches cut out either.

It would be amazing if those few aesthetic issues were worked out in the "v2" disc. It's a stunning achievement from an electronics perspective, regardless. He's not just haphazardly stringing a bunch of different Arduino modules together in there. He's got a custom PCB tying everything together and the whole nine...

Edit: Just noticed in his tutorial video the notches are cutout.
