Trilogy of Terror Zuni Fetish Doll, box and scroll

After watching SATELLITE74's great sculpt-from-scratch build, and owning replicas of Chucky (Child's Play), Annabelle (The Conjuring), and Billy (Saw) and with Fats (Magic) on the way, I felt like I needed to complete my killer doll collection with this well-known 70's child nightmare producer. Since I love boxes and books, I wanted to add the box he comes in and the scroll that explains his binding charm. Here are some screen shots to get started:







Here is the figure I bought on ebay. I believe it began as the Dimensional Designs resin kit from the 90's. I detailed the face and added some spear feathers. I will be adding a second gold chain as it should loop around twice and fit at the ribcage level rather than at the waist.



Here is the box I bought on Etsy to use as a starting point (just an unfinished domed trunk-like box about the right size.

Got a vintage bandana today and the pattern is nearly perfect. It is too dark and so I plan to fade it to olive with dilute bleach. We'll see…

Well I knew bleach and dye were unpredictable, but I didn't expect to go here:



This was arrived at a little at a time, passing through cobalt blue and slate gray on the way. Now I guess I'll add green dye and try to get back to olive!

I have a gold bandana with the same pattern, just in case.

Here, I have restored the white using bleach on a toothpick on the right and not on the left. I think this is an acceptable match to his skirt in the film.

This is a fantastic project! It looks great. I'm glad the spirit of the Zuni is still alive. It's odd that a made for TV movie, a three part horror flick starring Karen Black in all, still stands to this day and the Zuni portion is burned in the memory (like mine) of all who saw it.
Yeah, I saw it like 35 years ago and it STILL creeps me out!
Your display is truly spot on. :thumbsup
