I wanted to make something and recently re-watched my favorite anime, Trigun, and decided to build Vash's gun, and so I did, it's not perfect as I'm still getting used to working with EVA foam and how to use a dremel. The screws are actual machine screws just cut down and glue into holes in the foam, which also adds a nice aesthetic and a nice weight to the prop.

I did originally intend to make a working break action and spinning cylinder but the attempt didn't go too well and so it was made one solid piece, if I were to re make this I would make it out of wood for more stability, weight and strength which would allow for me to make the break action and possibly a working trigger and hammer, as well as try to find somewhere to get a stencil cut for the two bits of writing on either side, which I have made templates for but is too difficult to cut by hand.

While I can appreciate the effort it took to do that gun, EVA foam, as you said, is not the best material to do so. Wood for sure! ;)

You can still achieve awesome effects with EVA foam, but I have to do everything by hand as I have no power tools, I'm sure if I had a band saw or scroll saw this would've definitely been better, with the ability to create regular bevels and just easier straight cuts. When I eventually re do this, wood will be the used material. :)
