Trek IV Voyage home small Klingon Disrupter

I have an old resin kit of one of these (circa 1991) that I always assumed was accurate, but I don't seem to find any photo reference or screen caps of this piece anywhere online to confirm the details, paint, etc. I also don't have the movie handy, so I would appreciate anything anyone can post or point me toward.

Thanks!

No pics handy myself, but the real ones have what looks like a kubotan on the underside and the emitter is a bevel cut, VietNam era m16 flash suppressor.

This pic, from RAC's site I think, was in my files.

Here's mine...
It's a Marco, but I think it's pretty close.

The Comm is a Marco too, but I rebuilt and detailed it.

That was another crushing disappointment (IMHO) about Trek 4... instead of their cool Starfleet props, our heroes were reduced to skulking around carrying those anonymous brown Klingon boxes. :unsure

I agree with you...Yes.
Especially since we've never seen the Klingon "Hand Phaser" before and all of a sudden, there it is...and never seen again :lol

So, I display these with the others in line.
Kind of disrupts the flow though.

Actually, this reminds me of MY least favorite Trek movie prop, the Trek II communicator.

So they just pulled this thing off a prop shelf somewhere, right?

Big, ugly, boxy. Looks like version 2.0 of the Cage communicator.

The STII:WOK com is a good analogy; ugly as sin, but people want one because it was in a 'good' Trek movie.

I've actually always liked the designs of the Klingon communicator and tricorder (from III and IV) a lot, but the IV hand disrupter no nearly as much. However, it is part of the Voayge Home 'landing party set'!

I think all the Klingon props worked well in Voyage Home- the awkward non-starfleet designs heightened the sense of our heros being out of their element.

Phase pistol:
Thanks for the pic from RAC's site- I couldn't find it in any of his articles last night.

Sporak:
Thanks for the pics of the Marco pieces! I have always wondered what these looked like up close!

Here is the kit I've been trying finish up. Right now no electronics- I'll tackle that later. Pictured with it is my scratch-built Klingon comm.

Yes, but THATS why love it :)
Not the most elegant sure...but maybe the most realistic.
Drop this sucker off a cliff and still call the ship for a rescue.
It was also the first in the movies to have a flip lid and that familliar "Kirk to Enterprise".

It's also the most elusive Communicator... or was.
This one was my "Grail" prop...

Now if they made a deliniation between the standard Comm and a "All Terrain" version, that would be one thing. Looks like StarFleet used Jeep as a vendor :)

Actually if they had used a design like this on "Enterprise" it woulda fit in more than the version they used.

Steve

The WOK comm was the hardest "sell" for me, since it is such a primitive looking piece of crap compared to all the other more elegant comms we've seen over the years... :lol

It has its charm I guess. I probably like it better than the TMP wrist comm - or the WOK Reliant jogging-monitor whatever-it-is wrist comm for that matter.

Still it's a shock when Kirk pulls out this ridiculous metal box with blinkies... :unsure

Ironically the metal box doesn't even feature in the most infamous WOK scene with a communicator ("KHAAAAAAAAAN!") ... Kirk uses the nondescript Reliant wrist communicator instead! :lol
