Paramount has just officially revealed that Transformers: Dark of the Moon will street on 9/30 in movie-only Blu-ray/DVD Combo and DVD editions (SRP $29.99 and $19.99). If you're a serious fan you'll want to wait to buy, because the studio has also revealed that more deluxe Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D and DVD special edition versions will follow "in the coming months". Here's a direct quote from director Michael Bay:

"For fans who can't wait, the Blu-ray release in September will deliver an awesome ride with the movie in stunning 1080p high definition and a 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack that was personally overseen by our phenomenal supervising sound mixer just for the Blu-ray. As you know, we put a lot of effort into the 3D experience for the theatrical release and I want to make sure we get it right for home viewing--and that process takes time. So stay tuned for an even more incredible release that will include the film on Blu-ray 3D and loads of bonus features."

I'd love it if they had the special edition where they remove the new chick, take out the unnecessary comedy bits between tragic scenes and make it flow better by about 20 minutes or so.
