Hi Guys,

I've been lurking hjere for a short while and then thought I'd join and give a build a go. I'd like to start with a Dredd £D helmet and Lawgiver. There is a lot here for inspiration, but I've found myself almost overwhelmed by teh talent. Any guidance on where to start would be much appreciated.

I'm in the UK if that helps with possible suggestions.

Hi!

You've not defined your starting points, so I'm assuming you want to build a helmet from scratch. I think the easiest way to go is Pepakura.

Get some cardstock, print out a helmet, and start glueing! Read lots of threads; look at forums threads and youtube for turorials; search is a valuable tool.

Look for "the hero tutorials", and the stuck "pepakura questions" thread. Search can be used within the forums, as well as the threads.

For a Lawgiver, I've not seen any Pepakura files for the 3D version, but people have stratch built them from EVA Foam & styrene, among other materials; There are also Lawgiver kits for sale in the Junkyard. For myself, I'm using a Nerf Stryfe as a base gun - it won't be movie accurate but my hope is that it will be sufficiently bad-ass.

There's some great advice there. Looking at my post, I'm a bit shamed face about my slack post. Usually I would be doing all you suggested, but my pc is dead and I'm reduced to a crappy ancient tablet. it hates letting me post here and this is my 5th attempt, having borrowed a pc for 5 mins from a friend.


I will keep researching and look at getting my pc sorted so i can do the pepakura helmet. I can then download the software and give it a go.
