total length of STIII klingon knife?

Does anyone know the actual overall length of the "Marcus-gutter" dk-tagh from STIII? I'm thinking of having some steel blanks for a "real thing" cut out from D2, and I'd like to have a solid reference to scale the drawing against before I take it to the laser-cutter folks.

Phil Norwood made the original for Trek 3 and it subsequently went missing. The Next Gen version was quite a bit different but Steve H at HMS did do a version of the Norwood knife but the detailing was somewhat different and I dont know how he decided on the dimensions. As far as I know the Norwood knife dimensions were never published and since it disappeared I dont think anyone had the chance to fully document it.
