Hi All,

This is my latest project, to build a type seven computer. Although it looks close to the original there are changes to allow me to build in some features other than blinking lights. This is a work in progress, so I hope to do some more video as it progresses.

Hope you enjoy

I didn't see your video at first. If you use the "..." three dots with the down arrow from the message icons and choose media, you can paste the URL and it will show your video in a more noticeable block for people to click on.

Lookin good so far.

No problem. I'll be watching your progress. The raising part is really cool. It's beyond what some people would do for a prop. Very nice.

Hi All,

I have been working on the project some more, did a lot of puttying and sanding to the main cabinet, no pictures we all know the mess of sanding.

Started work on the electronics to make all the lights blink. So here is a video of the little computer panel on the front panel. It is not exact as any of the other type 7s, but that is because this is a Type 7 Theta I guess.

The lights are a bit bright so I am going to put some colored cellulose behind the lights, should tone them down a bit and give a better color. That will be done just after painting, which I hope to do in about 2 weeks.

More to come.

Well I am finally at the painting stage. Should be finished soon, but it takes a lot to paint something this big in a little garage make shift paint both.

It is a bit different than the original as you can tell by the opening on the side and front.

The Type 7 Computer was actual in several episodes. It was probably best displayed in The Menagerie Part1. The reason it is called Type 7 is because there were 7 different version of the computer. The case was basically the same but the front changed. I guess this will be number 8

Actually I am going to put a lot more than just a PC in the Type Seven, but you will have to wait.

I just had to do this because I had already built the light board and had the colour Trek buttons ready.
