TOS Trek Computer

I am building a couple of the computer props from TOS trek. These are replicas of the ones seen in the episode "The Galileo Seven" along with just about every other episode after that. Check here for a brief history (if you go about half-way down these are under type 4A):

I still have not finished them but I will have one up for sale in a couple of weeks (as soon as I finish-up a couple of projects I'm working on for someone). I have one sitting right above my computer now. Anytime I want to jettison the fuel I only have to reach up and flip the switch. I do this about every 10-15 mins, lol.

Damn! Very nice!

I was scrolling down, waiting for you to show a reference picture until I noticed the sleeve in the second pic and realized that was a screencap of the real deal! :lol

Ve-ery nice! I was just looking at the pictures when I noticed Spocks' sleeve and ID'd the Episode. Until I saw the sleeve I thought it was another pic of your prop! :p

Awesome work!

I've always loved the design of these: original flashing light boxes in '60s TV instead of just rented computer banks (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea etc.

The sequencing of the lights is really what makes it shine!
Are they LEDs or did you go incandescent?

So that's why the Tholian ship is still in spacedock! ;)

Great job Will! :thumbsup

While I do have a love for the shared computer bank props of the Irwin Allen shows (I played spot the prop as a kid ). Star trek would not have the same impact for me without the original blinky boxes and panels of the series. It's nice to see such a great project and I hope to make or buy one in the future. :thumbsup

Thanks for the comments. Yes, the lighting is all LED but I used "warm white" LEDs to simulate the incandesent look.

LOL, no not really. It always takes me forever to finish anything. I actually started these I believe at the end of last summer!
