"Mr. Chekov...set course for Ceti Alpha Snuggle. Mr. Sulu...set phaser on no heat dry. Yeoman Rand...sit on my lap."

:lol

Yeah, it looks good.

"Keptin, we are being attacked by the Static Klingons!"

"Mr. Checkov......fire a full spread of.........Bouncedryersheets!!"

The chair is looking good, by the way. Looking forward to seeing your progress on it. :)

Just realized I never posted an update here.

Not the chair's final home! But complete. Since this picture was taken, I've repainted the comm panel a grayer shade of blue.

The chair swivels 180 degrees left and right, with spring return. All the switches and lights work. Inserting a data card into the slot also activates light and sound. The lowest white switch on the right-hand panel is a toggle that activates its own light, as well as the light in the communications panel.

Oh, and I assume it's MDF construction? Some deets would be great!

Hey, thanks. No -- plywood construction, for all the grey parts. The chair is a combination of maple, plywood, hardboard, and walnut.

I'll have to take some close-ups of the control panels.

Here's the left and right chair arms, as seen from the center seat, lights ablaze:

You can blame either my poor camera or my poor photography for the fact that the two armrests look like they're made from different trees in this pic -- they look the same in real life, and are indeed made from the same beautiful piece of dark walnut. :)

What are the triangular colored pieces made of?
Are the colored or are they clear with lights underneath?

James in texas

Made of clear epoxy resin; most of them are colored (one is clear on the left, two are clear on the right). All the lights underneath are white.

This is an awesome build. Hats off to you!

The panels look great, now all you have to do is program a universal remote to the buttons and you have the perfect chair for your TV room!
