Torchwood: Captain Jack's Headset

Just wondering if anyone can identify Captain Jack's comms earpiece/headset. If it's a found piece or something made?

I'm sure something that funky is pure prop. He did have a more realistic 'real life' headseat in the first episode. That I could believe is off the shelf.

Yeah, his first one was a Jabra BT250 Bluetooth headset.

It seems very tinker toy, I think just some tubing and a basic ear piece you got it.

Is it just me or does it look like a landing gear strut off of an RC aircraft?

Well, like everything else the props department in BBC Cardiff makes - it has a bright blue LED in it.

Any updates on this?

I saw a guy on the bus today wearing some headphones that looked a lot like this headset, only minus the L shaped bit on the front (with the led in)

The closest thing I found on ebay were these -

Me too. I saw a guy on the Tube this evening with a pair that looked just like these. I was soooo tempted to go up and ask him about them... shoulda. >_<

Way to revive an old thread, heh, but I was doing a bit of searching on a headset like this and yeah, I definately think it's just a bunch of pieces put together. But, I was thinking of scratch-building it if I couldn't find the proper parts; how would we go about that?

This would be a great piece to display next to the vortex manipulator once it's made, hence the thread revival.
