Nope... Definately a F18. Notice the horizontal stab on the F104 in the picture below and that of the F18 posted earlier. Match them to the screen shots (borrowed from Karl's post). If anything... the stein lids are made of pewter so the prop guys could have modified the topper a bit. It does appear that the wing tips may have been possibly shortened a bit.




Notice the angle of the stabs?

A match for the image on the right.

The F104 has perfectly flat horizontal stabs.

WELL.. That was quick, I posted this LATE last night not expecting to see it solved so soon. Does anyone here have the ability to imprint mugs??? Thanks wuher da brewer... :thumbsup

They're at least keeping alive the tradition of massively reusing stock footage of vipers flying and launching like they did in the old series.

That was one of the cheesiest parts of the series... :lol I think they must have shot only one episode of scenes and just reused them over and over, reverse the negative and reuse over and over... :lol

Yeah that's exactly right... big monies were put down to do the original three-hour "TV movie" episode of Galactica ("Saga of a Star World"), and effects were done by the legendary John Dykstra, who had just come off of Star Wars (ANH).

Pretty soon more TV movies were in the works, and suddenly they had a WEEKLY series on their hands... well it was just too much pressure, and not enough money, so they had to just crank it out as best they could... getting by with the same stock footage most of the time, only filming a new shot occasionally for specific needs.

But that was the way it was done back then. Ten years earlier, Star Trek (TOS) had the same problem with lack of time and funds, which is why footage of the pilot version Enterprise (which has many visual differences) is seen every week during the run of the series, mixed up with shots of the "production" miniature. :rolleyes

As far as new helmets go.. did the pegasus use the new style helmets. ?

The older helmets probably work on a different frequency and dont use the computer technology with the old systems of the old fighters..I am totally just making that up.. but it sounded good.. ha ha..

outta all the things to spend money on.. they redo the helmets.. its a good sign.. meaning they got a budget..to do that sort of thing..
