Tony Stark Arc Reactor - wearable

Looking very cool.

So the final reactor will be paper? Or you would make a mold of it and cast it in something else?
 
That would be Very Cool, and very appreciated by me and many others I'm guessing...:cool

I could probably whip up a template (3-D model+Pepakura=win) to build a reasonably accurate wearable Arc using sheet styrene or cardstock along with a simple LED lighting guide to make it entirely self-contained... it wouldn't cost more than $10 to build it yourself at the most basic level.

I plan on making one myself, so it wouldn't be any prob for me.

@ Bowelrock: How is the reactor attached to you? cross straps? a neckstrap?
 
I'm making one with a source most people haven't even looked at: Cashew (or other canned nut) tin lids. They're perfectly sized, have the right rim, and are thin enough that they'd look right (you'd probably actually have to make them a bit thicker with cardstock or something around the edge). I'm just putting LEDs attached directly to a coin cell battery inside it after I paint it silver and put a backing on it so there's no light bleed-through. Use bright enough LEDs and some wax paper to give it the diffused look and you can probably bring it in under $20. I'll build it over the next week and post pisc when I can.

Sounds like an interesting way to make one. Look forward to seeing your tutorial pics.
 
I am still looking for something decent. Anyone making these yet? My electronics skills and small prop skills are questionable at best lol
 
Sorry for the lack of updates, people, but my computer is currently out of commission. My hard drive is still intact, and I've rebuilt/upgraded most of the system, but I'm still waiting on another component to arrive before it'll be up and running again.

On the plus side, I've secured all the necessary materials to build the prototype Reactor, so I'll be able to do that within a few days of my comp working again, and then post the plans when they're confirmed to work. :)
