Tomy TOS Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser waitlist

This will be a fantastic display partner for the TOMY TOS Enterprise! They started with a 1:350 TOS ship and I hope they continue that line.

I'm up for a K'Tinga any time, too!

Us original series folks are aging out. Give us our ships first -then get off my lawn!

Some really cool pics. I don’t ever recall seeing a Klingon TOS shuttle before.

The shuttle makes me think of the original Jeffries design for a Starfleet shuttle.
Animated Series, maybe? My initial Googling didn't turn up anything.

Both look great. I may have to get one of each. $700 is a lot though. We shall see.
I thought it was one or the other? On the product waitlist page there was an option to select either one, so I assumed TOMY was only producing one. But if you’re right, having both options is nice.

I’m only getting the TV version. Running out of space and I want room for the D when they produce that ship.

Oh it said two options available I thought we could buy it. I misread that. I dont even remember what option I picked..

Edit: I went back and looked. It let you pick both options which I did a second time..:)

The remastered hippie ship merged with the early winged shuttle and had a baby it seems.

How does the impulse/shuttlebay/power-pack look? Tall enough?

I'm kinda disappointed by this personally, I really hoped it would be Reliant, which would've been the perfect companion piece to the Refit.

The D7 is my favourite TOS ship so I may get it if the price is a fair bit lower than they've been until now, but otherwise I'll probably pass. Space is at a premium and I know this would live in its box even if I did get it.

I’m in on this! Was hoping for a D but this will suffice. Shocked the D did not win the last survey. Was hoping to get a D to complete the Enterprise collection.

I'm sure the D will have won, but they've said before that they wanted to stay in 1/350 and — more importantly, I suspect — they probably don't want to blow their load too early. If you make the ones everyone wants too early, especially a one-two punch with the Refit and then D, the only two ships everyone is near guaranteed to buy, then people could lose interest from then on. This way interest for more ships stays high because people haven't got the best ones yet.

Yeah I think you’re right. The D will probably come down the line. Gotta generate anticipation and interest and maintain it! Don’t blow it too early!

I know TOMY wants to stay in the same size of 1/350 scale for the ships and a 1/350 D would be ginormous! So a smaller scale is a must…hopefully the same scale as the one by Fanhome. I would do that kit but the building, the waiting, the light gaps, crazy electronics and THE COST are at this moment a no go for me. So TOMY is the way to go.

So, wait…they’re doing one version based on the two-tone Roddenberry/AMT tooling model, and one based on the all-gray Ed Miarecki repaint? I was under the impression that both studio models had the same color scheme, with the model that was actually filmed being repainted in a tri-tone scheme for PHASE II, then repainted again by Miarecki to match how it appeared on TV (all gray), due to lack of reference.

I just got a new email which further explains the different options.

Launch day is getting closer, Jim, and we couldn’t be more excited to share the 1:350 Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser replica with you.

Before things kick off, we wanted to introduce ourselves.

As collectors and fans ourselves, we knew this replica needed to do justice to one of the most iconic starships in Star Trek™. Every detail from the die-cast construction to the lighting effects to the opening shuttlecraft bay is carefully being researched, reviewed, and refined.

During development, we are working closely with collectors and Star Trek™ Experts to capture both versions of the D7that are part of Star Trek™ history.

The original filming model appeared in solid gray on screen, though designer Matt Jefferies originally intended for the ship to have a two-tone finish. Over time, both the filming model and additional studio models were repainted for potential future use.

This is why we're offering both variants: one based on the version that appeared on screen, and one inspired by the private commission piece that introduced more colorful details, a design highly regarded among collectors.

Both represent unique moments in the Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser’s production history, making them significant additions for any Star Trek™ collection. We’re honored to bring both versions to life, combining screen-accurate design with collector-grade craftsmanship.

If you’d like to learn more, ask questions, or connect with the team as launch day approaches, we’d love for you to join our Facebook group.

So they’re trying to sweeten the appeal of the variant by going with the Smithsonian mono coloring. After all, the filming model and the AMT model were near-identical, aside from a few small details, which wouldn’t really be enough just justify a variant, for most people.

Then they’re offering an accurate version and a repaint, more than anything.
