Tom Hanks goes for a walk.

Awww man, the Azure Window collapsed? I hate the inevitable doomedess of coastal erosional landmarks.

What actor doesn't enjoy the attention when it all comes down to it? lol...I LOVE Tom Hanks and I LOVE that he's friendly and smiles when being photographed, instead of being grumpy and mean about it...(y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Tom Hanks is great, but his son is a dick, I ran into him in San Diego one time and a buddy of mine asked if he wouldn't mind taking a photo with him, and he refused saying he would get mobbed by people wanting photos if he took one..... We were the only people around.

The article says: "A-list actors are known to be free from paparazzi harassment in Malta".

And who made that photo? :confused

I can sorta relate to this from the celebrity side. When I'm on my way to an event with R2D2 trying to get from the car into the event, people will stop him on the street for a 'quick photo'.

99% of people are polite, and I usually conceede, because well... that's precisely why I bring him out. However, it sometimes happens that I am running late for a hard start time at a paid event, and 'quick photo' for one or two people out on the street is often treated as kind of casual by the fans. No one is ever in a big rush to get back to what they were doing before, and I really don't want to come off as rude.

One shot becomes two, then three, or five each among multiple cameras. And then they start asking questions, (Always with the same questions!) Really, if it takes longer than 15 seconds other people will be drawn to the noise and commotion and the next thing you know you have a crowd.

Once a crowd forms you're there for a good half hour or more.

When I was in college I worked at a small restaurant and a couple of times each summer John Stamos would come in and his only disguise was a baseball cap. This was back when he was still doing "Full House".

I think part of it is if you do not expect to see someone then you don't notice them. Back in '95 I was visiting California and we went to DisneyLand. I literally almost knocked Spielberg over when I was getting off the tea cups. I thought, "wait, was that Steven Spielberg?" Got my camera from a friend who was holding it and got a picture of him pushing a stroller, and Kate Capshaw and Rob Reiner talking to their Disney escort by the Materhorn. Nobody else seem to even notice them.

Which son?

I was an extra in the movie Philadelphia, and I can say that Tom Hanks is one of the nicest guys in the world...at least when you're 5 as I was. :lol

Hopefully he enjoys the rest of his stay free from too many more prying eyes.
