TODAY I RACE MY INTERNET! skyrim knife!

hi guys! today i have finally found a day off and couldnt think of a better way to relax than to have a race against my broardband to create a nordic style knife before my internet can re-install skyrim onto my PC! all the pictures will end up here eventually but you can follow the race through twitter @nukeproofprops or on my facebook www.facebook.com/nukeproofprops

god i cant belive i forgot to actually post my build for this, i think i just went and slept afterwards and didnt even play skyrim!
anywho this build too me 4 hours to complete and heres the build..

so i started by free-handing a design onto paper using my kayak knife for some rough measurements of handles ect. this gave me a basic shape that i could cut and mount onto foamboard!

once i had the basic shape dialed i began to layer and carve the foam into shape, this got a rough which just how much i had to rush but i managed to fix my worst crimes with ever modelers favorite.. GREEN STUFF! btw if there are any people out there who play warhammer or LOTR, DO NOT buy green stuff from games workshop! (sorry GW guys i love you but amazon/ebay is waaay cheaper and you can get it in like meter long strips)

time for some of the quickest sanding and carving i have ever done! my pc was saying 1 hour left so i got a little panicky at this point! and thank you to this nail file i found in the bottom of one of my tool boxes it was a lifesaver beyond belief!

time for a paint job, one extremely bodged pommel, leather wrapping for a handle and some rushed, out of focus photography!

and finally i was finished with 0.1gb left of the download, i downed tools and cleared up the biggest mess i have ever made!
oh and i found this at the bottom of it!


hope you guys like it i know its rough but for 4 hours of slightly manic work I'm quite pleased! id love to do this again some time and i may even live stream or film it! so if you have any ideas of race builds i can do please let me know, i might give myself longer next time, so do a 24 hour thing maybe? if i can cope with that sort of thing!!

Thanks for sharing that fun build .. love the time limit and the work you did in that time frame.

Secondly thanks for the tip on Green Stuff - I hate to say I have the GW stuff in stock at all time in my tool box. Going to Amazon next to look for this less expensive version !!!

its the same stuff i think but basically just comes in a blank wrapper rather than anything branded, if i find the link to what i bought i will post it! even though if the stuff isn't genuine GW green stuff it sculpts fine and is strong enough to fill holes in chipboard AND hold a cupboard door on (student tip 101 right there!)
