TNG cobra phaser question

TNG props are not much in my wheelhouse but does anyone here know what the black grip material is on the cobra phaser? Found item? I've got a phaser to restore missing this part.

I know this is a year old, but I'd be interested in this too. Anyone use or find anything?

I'm pretty sure it was half round rods of Plastruct/Evergreen styrene on the master that was then molded and cast in resin.
I think for the Stapleton kits, Myron molded and cast his grips in black PU rubber for all of his phaser replicas.
