TNG Bridge Restoration

Oh man! Glad that got salvaged.
Also glad I made the trip to the LV Hilton before it all ended.................

Hey Guys/Gals,

Is this being done by anyone here?

Yes. I'm running engineering duties on this project after the owner of the set was impressed with my designs on the screen used "Doctor Who" console I helped restore earlier this year which appeared at the Gallifrey One convention, as well as my harem of movie cars.

I'm heading to the set to make one of many large shopping lists on Saturday.

This actually isn't the LV Hilton set, it's a piece Paramount built after they blew up the TV set in "Generations" for touring. A couple of missing pieces were acquired from the Hilton Experience set to make it complete, but during the restoration we will be restoring all pieces to original TV specifications.

Anyone (especially in the LA area) who is interested in helping out, we will need a variety of skills to do this piece justice from programming interactive flash displays to sculpting to general grunt labor, so post or PM me if you'd like to give a hand - I'd like to make sure as many fans as possible get to point at the finished set and say that they had a hand in the restoration.

Should be a fun adventure. I've been catching up on TNG on Netflix in anticipation.

I already chimed in on Facebook, but count me in for sure. I'd love to be a part of that.

Where is all this happening?

Does it have a home?

Is it sitting in Roger Heisman's driveway?

Just curious. I'd be happy to help out.

I'm glad it's someone on the RPF! This is such a cool project, and I will be following along as progress notes are posted. If you would, please keep us updated!

Amazing! (y)thumbsup

Mike, your help would be most appreciated! We apparently also have a piece of the touring Original Series set that went under the captain's chair - didn't you do a run of those a while back?

The set is in Sherman Oaks and when we get organized enough with requirements to do some official build days, then everyone is invited to get their hands dirty!

A few scribbled notes to try and make some sense of the hundreds of pieces:

This is the bridge I always wanted to be on...

LOVE TOS but it was before my time. I remember watching TNG with my family. :)

I'll second that. The set in Vegas was as close as I thought I'd ever come to being on the bridge of my dream. I can't wait to see this come to full fruition.

The updated website looks great too!

Never got to the do the Vegas thing when Trek was around. :(

Wish I lived in CA. I'd love to help out. In the mean time, I've been spreading the word for the Indiegogo campaign as best I can and donating myself. So glad this was rescued by folks who intend to share it with everyone.

This is great!! Its going to be so epic once it is up and running! I hope everything goes well with the project. I look forward to the day that I can come and visit the bridge and sit in the captain's chair :D I hope that one day the TOS bridge also has the opportunity to come to fruition :D
