Shell is done, backpack is installed and I figured out how to do the torso so that it will cover the straps.
Now, to paint the EVA foam straight or to coat in liquid latex first?

I think the latex will seal the foam. So just add some base color to the latex and paint away.

Yeah, I'll be painting it. I just used what I had for foam already and it just happened to be multicolored.
There are a few pictures of it in the first page or two of this thread. I sort of took a round about way, If I had to do it again I'd do it differently.

So here we are, Shell is coated in plastidip, and a test paintjob in photoshop to see if I like where it's going. Still have the body suit to make, and I still have to cast and paint the head and add eyes.. and only 85 days left.. OH DEAR!

Mock paint jobs.. still can't decide who the final turtle will be.. I was going for Donnie, and I'm done sculpting. If I do a different turtle I will do a new sculpt.
I have to make a decision....

Well I chose Don initially because Raph is the most popular, and I always like to go against the grain.. although he was always my favorite growing up. I also decided to go with Don because out of both movies, he's the one I feel my personality matches. I'm happy go lucky kind of like him, and I like to make things.. However, that being said.. the logistical side of it says carrying around a bo staff on my back at a convention all day might be a headache compared to 2 small sai. I feel like at this point I could make two pulls, put red/purple headbands on them and have both to choose from. I'm just one of those people who realizes that in the movies they had distinct looks and they didn't all look the same. Every picture I've taken to this point I was happy that he looked like Don from the first movie, but after photoshopping.. I can't help but think he looks more like Raph now. I don't have time to do much more sculpting so there can't be any more major changes. Anything now will have to be a new mask all together for later.

My suggestion is go with Don. The reason is that the Bo is much easier to get (and is much easier to pass con weapons standards).
On the other hand, Sais won't be as bulky in a con environment. hmmm..
My personal favourite has always been Don, so I am a bit biased here. In the end, I would go with the red bandana and the reason is that I will always prefer the classic comic turtles over the 90's cartoon/movie version. That way, you could wear any weapon you like.
Tough choices, but either way it is looking great!
