TK409 Bespin Escape C-3PO *PICS*

Just wanted to share my latest project. This is not the suit I costume in, but these parts are taken from the same kit. I tried to arrange the parts the same way as they did on Chewie's back in ESB, but it would look better being worn by a Wookiee or dragged along the floor by R2. The right arm is suspended inside so it can be puppeteered using a string like they did in some shots for ESB. The wires are a combination of motorcycle wiring harnesses, computer monitor and xbox cables. I connected the wires to a pegboard inside the torso with zip ties.

Your "real" suit is vac plated, yes? What did you do for the finish on this one? Looks great.

Yes, my costume suit is vacuum metalized. For this one I used the UK paint Plasti-kote Brilliant Metallic Gold, but it's obviously been heavily weathered.

Haha, awesome. My creative 9 yr old daughter is learning to sew and her very first creation was a pillow that looked suspiciously like it was trimmed off the top of a wookiee.

Awesome. Years ago I did the same thing with a 12" Threepio action figure. Somehow I suspect "real" parts look more impressive.

BTW you need to paint one of those shins silver.
