I'm new to all this. I looked at some many forms on here I just had to try it myself. And after printing out the files and cutting them out I got to say wow lol. I'm really for a challenge so I don't mind that. I got a pic included here of what I got to deal with. So any tips at all on where to start or anything doing this part on my first helmet build. Its still not all cut out so don't mind the mess ,lol Thanks a lot guys and I hope mine can turn out half as good as most of everyone's on here. keep note i never did this before so tips on where to start or anything would help.

Ialso just started and have messed up quite a bit lol. The best thing i found for me is to start with the biggest piece. that way you have the most surface are to build from

Hey,

I also made my helmet out of card. I'm not sure if i'm the only one who does this but i don't cut out all the pieces at once, there are too many and i would lose them and get confused lol.
I cut out one part, look at the Pepakura software and see which part it connects to then cut out that part and so on.
Good luck on the build, keep us posted. Are you doing the full suit?
I started with the helmet like you then got carried away with the full thing. I'm halfway there!

My best suggestion would be to organize those pieces by page in the pepakura file. You should have done that from the start to be honest. I bought a box of these and a binder and stuck a piece of masking tape at the top and just wrote, Pg. 1, Pg 2., etc. Until I had as many as I needed, and stuck the parts from page 1, page 2, in their corresponding page. At this current point you're probably going to spend more time looking for pieces then actually building which will be frustrating in an already detailed and time consuming process. Also, take your time, don't try and rush through. If you try to rush through it you're going to spend more time trying to rebuild it, fixing mistakes, then it would have to just take your time from the start.

best tip: never cut out all the pieces at once - cut out one piece, plug in glue gun, cut out second piece, glue together, cut out third piece, and glue on, and so on. this way, you got good organisation, and dont have to pay attention to not losing a part and so on.

also, number your printed pages, to find the pages easier according to reference

Thanks everyone for the tips. I'll know next time about cutting them all out lol. I will take my time tho. I didn't think there were so many small parts to it lol.

forgot to answer your question JacobRyan. If I can get the helmet done. I plan on doing the full suit. Just got to work on this part first.

When I built my iron man helmet (yes there were lots and lots of pieces) i used a paper clip and clipped each page of printouts together.

Then I built the Face plate then I went for the rest... it can be a little overwhelming but I actually find that part of the project a lot of fun.... finger burns from hot glue and all.

If you're totally new to pep, I recommend not starting with the helmet. You're going to learn as you go along, so if you did decide to make a full suit, at the end of the project your helmet is going to look far worse than the rest and you'll probably have to remake it.
