Tinted Lens Installation

I will be Installing 2 layers of medium tint plastic lenses on a P1 stunt Bio.
These lenses have a removeable protective film on both sides.
The thickness of both pieces combined is about 1/16".

Below is a picture of the inside of a P1 stunt Bio from George (Ptgreek).

I will be using Aves 2 part Apoxie Sculpt in silver/grey to build up the lip around
the eyes. This will give me a good surface area to hot glue the lenses in place.

Mix equal parts of A and B together. This stuff has about a 1 hour working time
before it starts to harden.

Create a flat surface area around the eyes about 3/16" wide.

Once the Apoxie Sculpt has cured (about 24 hours) put the first lens
in place (DO NOT remove the protective film) and trace around the eyes.

Using a good pair of scissors, cut the lens to size.

Place the cut out lens over the second piece then trace and cut.

Now remove the protective film from the front side of the first lens.
Leave the film on the back side for now.

Using a hot glue gun, spread a small amount around the lip.

Carefully put the lens in place. Make sure the exposed side of the lens is facing out.
Once the lens is securely in place remove the protective film from the back side.

Now just repeat the process with the second lens. Be careful not to get any hot glue
on the visible part of the lens.

Once both lenses are in place you can use more hot glue or Apoxie Sculpt
around the edges to create a stronger bond.

Thank you loads! I just started sanding my P1 Stunt that I recently received from George and have been looking at various options. This one is perfect. Though I may try and recess the rim a tad and use velcro tape, so that I can flip out the lens color for holidays, lol...

That is PERFECT! I think that is still my favorite look for lesnses! Is it difficult to see out of at night? Great work brother! Could you post up where you got the lenses?

Visibility at night is a little dark, but not difficult. I originally used 2 layers of black mesh instead of lenses. For me it was easier to see through the tinted lense than the black mesh in a night club environment. If you are interested in lenses just shoot me a PM. I will have them posted in the Buy and Sell section soon. Thanks, glad you guys found this useful.

That Aves 2 part Apoxie Sculpt is amazing stuff. A buddy of mine uses that in part when sculpting Star Wars helmets. Says it's much better to work with on the bucks than bondo.
