Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

I'm kinda bummed. A lack of time and funds means that the Alice suit will not be ready in time for Halloween. This does mean I get to spend the time it deserves to make it all sorts of perfect... Which may indeed be a blessing in disguise.

Unfortunately my backup costume is nowhere near as cool as all this.

This sounds like such a great idea! Chad, not only are you incredibly talented but you're such a visionary! Seriously!

Re: T's hatter costume. I actually threatened to sell it and he just said ' well if that's what you want then do it! ' BLAH. It absolutely breaks my heart into a thousand pieces that he doesn't like it as much as I do. I don't know if I could sell it... I have serious, SERIOUS issues with sentimentality. I'm one of those people that cry when they see discarded stuffed animals. xD

He's also ridiculously skinny, so I don't know that it would fit anyone else. :lol

But if it does come to that point, here'll be the first place I post!

*sigh* I was just so, SO happy with the final product of that and put my heart and soul into it that I wanted him to like it as much as I do. Especially since this year is the year for Hatter and he'd rather wear his inaccurate Jack that he wears everyone.

GOOD LORD I need to stop ranting.

Anyways...Pinski, he says the contacts bother him. They don't hurt but he 'can feel them in there'. He's just nitpicky and a softie I guess. I got blue UV ones for my succubus and I actually have an astigmatism ( one eye is slightly off round ) so the contact moves around and sometimes looks like I have a lazy eye BUT I'M WEARING THEM ANYWAYS. I guess girls really do just have higher tolerance levels. =p

Oh well... working hard on getting Hook wearable for Halloween ( won't be 100% complete since the buttons STILL aren't here... ) so we can both be pleased with what he's wearing. Though, since I made it all anyways, I think it should be my call. :love Hahhaha

The funnt thing is that it is totally something I would do, and in point of fact I'm so mad at myself for not doing it first! YAY for obscure details!

Just a little fun. (first makeup test)

LOL, that little dude ssssoooo needs a fake nose! :D

Mr. Pinkski, looking good dude! :D That coat is so fitting, it looks great!

You guys have any plans this weekend?

Our T-O-T starts in an hour and a half. I've been in full makeup since about 9:45 for another event today....But this is day #3 for makeup. 27th was the Joker, 28th was bruises n' blood, today is the hatter, tomorrow is the Hatter, and maybe the 31st as well.

I actualy need to go touch up my applications, it's wearing off! :lol

Hi everyone! I just signed up today and I just wanted to thank everyone for the amazing thread on the Alice costumes! I've been lurking on here as an un-member for a while reading through while working on my own Hatter costume for my fiance. I've finally finished it and it looks AMAZING!! And a lot of that is thanks to you guys because of all the amazing research you did and helpful tips! I'd like to post a pic but I'm debating about entering my Hatter costumes (I'm going as Alice/Um from Umbridge) or our other halloween costumes for this weekend of Prince Nuada and Princess Nuala.......I don't know if we are or aren't allowed to show pics before the contest so I figured it's best if I don't.....:)

LOL! Very cool man, I love your vest BTW!!!! :D

Here's some pics from last night after several...several...hours. I'm in makeup right now, and I've already been to the fall festival and day time "kiddie parade". Taking an hour break, and then going back out to the big "night parade". Tomorrow...I'm sleeping.

well guys and girls we went out at the weekend in the costumes !!!
what a response we got i had my pic took so many times

here are a few of us hope you all like and hope you like what i have done with the alice dress my girlfriend wanted something a little sexy and to put a vampier twist on it !!!

Hada blast this year. My costume wasn't as finished as I wanted it to be but it came out better than expected. At the last minute I had to do my GF's Um dress so didn't have as much time doing finishing touches on the MH.

I DID win scariest costume at the contest downtown and got me some swag. Made a few friends too.

It was a lil chilly so Um wore a Red sweatshirt. I told her it matched her color scheme quite well.

Her white rabbit is also a purse. Gotit at one of the AIW sites.

Bumped into the white rabbit that night. We plan to crash a tea party in the spring they hold at our local museum.

My favorite part is the vest. It's done all by hand and the black squares are stitched individually also by hand.

The stripes were an after thought. Upon seeing Depp had stripes on the back of his vest I busted out a sharpie and ruler to do this.

Mom made me a peacock feather. This one is the prototype and what I brought with Halloween.

The bandolier has all real vintage spools on it.

Seeing I was on a tight budget to put it together I used cheap chain. This will be one of my first upgrades to the costume.

Seeing I have a few more events I plan to wear this I am still finishing my leather hat. I did get a backup in case I didn't have time.
Here's a quick breakdown of the costume. Only a few things were purchased but overall I made pretty much everything else.
SHS= second hand store , OH= on hand already have had, MSB= modified store bought clothing

Shirt $3 SHS
socks .50 SHS
spools $10
chain & greeblies $6
hat $25
pattern $2
pants $0 OH
shirt lace $0 OH
tie $2.50
thimbles (purchased with spools)
gloves $0
vest $5
hat scarf $3
coat $40
hatpins $20
sparrow patch $12
shoes $0 OH
wig $25
makeup $7
It adds up to under 200 that includes the leather I picked up for 2 dollars. Enough to do a fullsized hat and a small one or more.

Didn't want to SEE the pockets on the vest but I still wanted them so I hid them.

My final photo contribution to the thread... many thanks to EVERYONE who shared valuable information here so I could complete my costume. I'm also thankful for all the AWESOME friends I made along the way :) I managed to get a best costume win and a second place win in at a local Halloween parade (and still waiting to hear back from some online contests that end next week), so yeah, it was all worth it! Cheers!!!

well my sound odd but both the pin and rings i made from body filler !!!
the pin i got a bit of card cut the shape out then covered it in body filler and sanded to the right shape put all the detail on with a knife !!

Very nice. How did you do your eyebrows?

I had a bunch of hair leftover from my wig when I thinned it down, so I just cut some small bunches of hair from those strands and fixed the hairs in place with spirit gum. After that I cut and styled and set with hairspray :)
