Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

is anyone planing on making a step by step tutorial on how they made their hat?
my hat now is made of fabric and cardstock, but i would like to make a vinyl or leather hat. however it'll prolly come out horribly if i dont have any instructions lol

there is just to many ways to do it really. its all really trial and error till you find a way that works for you

Hey everyone my costume is done!!!!

i also need to order the silk that im gonna slap on there for the aging
so this is pre "S.H.I.T beaten out of it" pictures

I finally saw it at the cheap theatre this weekend, and since I've gotten more into costumes in recent months, I tried to pay attention to the details out of his outfit. So much respect for anyone who even tries to do it.

Richard is 40 years old.

Just thought I'd point that out.

:lol :lol :lol :p ;)

Nice video mate! :D

Padawan, it's all coming together! :D Can't wait to see the field pictures! :D

I got to see that costume first hand this weekend and man, Richard is a master of his craft. That hat is certainly the best I've seen (besides the screen used) and is a thing of beauty. The shoes are pretty sick too.

I'll be there man....
"most important people"?
are any of us really of any importance in the grand
scheme of things?
ok ok Colleen,Johnny and Tim yes they are.
but they arent going to be there are they? :confused

does anyone know the exact rules on weapons at comic con?
i'm making a wooden claymore for my battle gear..will that be allowed in?
or does the blade need to be made of hard rubber?
cant find any info on this on the comic con website...

stanx in advance!

we are too important XO (if i could get them to come that would be amazing, Tim would, hes nuts like that)
and im changing the time to 12, lunch time
so Chad and Brandon can make it cause they will be in the Masquerade
ill post a thread for it with all the info very soon
with like maps and stuff

and a wood one will be fine
they will probably just make you put an orange tag on the handle

real swords need to have a sheath and have to be zip-tied or something of the sort so you cant take it out

HEY EVERYBODY
IF YOUR GONNA BE AT COMIC-CON SEND ME OR CHAD A PM IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING THE TEAPARTY SO I CAN SEND YOU ALL THE INFO

were trying to avoid moochers cause that means less Uppelkuchen for Mirana to make
( and less strain on everyones wallet ^^; )

(sorry about that dude, i get exited easily)

On the subject of weapons at SDCC:

No functional weapons are allowed at Comic-Con International.

Simulated or costume weapons are allowed as a part of your costume subject to prior approval by security and compliance with the following:

All costume weapons must be inspected at the security station in Lobby E.
All costume weapons must conform to state and federal law.
Projectile costume weapons must be rendered inoperable.
Costume swords will be tied to your costume in such a way that they can’t be drawn.

After each person’s costume weapon has been checked, it is tagged by security and you will be given a wristband to wear to designates that your weapons have been checked. Security will escort you to the security station for inspection if your costume weapon is not tagged.

If you do not want to have your costume weapons inspected or tagged, or you are not willing to comply with the foregoing, please do not bring your costume weapons.

Oh I wish I were going to comic con this year. Too late in getting the passes, even though I knew it would sell out way early. Oh well my fault. Have fun you guys! I'd love to see pics of your costumes. Keep up the good work! :D

PS about the weapons, I saw many people with their "weapons" drawn last year and were practicing/rehearsing a battlescene or something, and no one said anything to them.

Thanx Fatal!!

maybe i'll make it more of a claymore walking stick?
as i dont want it attached to my costume having to make a sheath
for it that defeats the purpose of doing "screenlike poses"

@sithspadawan..count me in on the party..pinky's out!!

hopefully cosplaylifeforme will make it!! she's purdy...and makes
a wonderful hat.

Hey Guys,
just got some kewl pix from the ren faire this
past weekend.

boy a good photographer with a good camera makes a big difference compared to
point and shoot and camera phones.

as promised the ULTIMATE Hatter tie once I had access to the screen used
one at el cap! NO not In my hand access... dont wanna stretch the truth.
but yes better than behind the window access.

P.S.
