Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

So how about those "eat me"s above? I think they came out rather nice

Thanks for the compliments guys ;)

Not screen accurate by any means. Specially since I used angels instead of cherubs. I'm thinking of sculpting cherubs for the 1:1 scale box though.

:lol Charles, I always admire your way of bringing light to the situation.

Some people just love their drama, both he & I know that. The RPF isn't a place for wars, it's for knowledge, discussion & ideas. Ideas are shared, facts are exchanged, knowledge is obtained. One can either learn from the knowledge, or be stubborn to the facts. Drama is created when stubborn ideals clash with knowledge.

The RPF is a wonderful tool. People can choose to use it or be one. And like yourself Charles, I choose to use it.

.

Exactly, it IS meant as a tool for using to benefit everyone involved, and I think that this domain doesn't belong to any one person, for any one reason, or is meant for one particular individual to claim as their specific territory. And I also think that that since everyone here is of varying levels of experience, resources, etc, that calling out the work of another person and saying "it sucks" in so many words isn't right either.

That being said, All Y'all need to stop acting up in front of company.

and now that THATS said, I think there are more patches on his chest rather than just the dragonfly and bird. I can't say specifically when, but I do believe I have seen more on there at some point or other.

And welcome to my home, try not to make too much of a mess. :p

Hey Sithy,

i accept your welcoming to what is everybody's home.
let Bygons be bygons.. the RPF is a large community
large enough for both our ego's.

as far as screen accurate....
well its all relative isnt it..

we'll leave it at that..

besides all that.. how have you been?
i'm going to SDCC this year for the 1st time
i'm sure i'll see you there and we can catch up.
it's been too long.

I wanted to stick a Picture up of my pants, and this clearly redefines how I need a new camera because the colors didn't come out right at all. But at least that Loverly Lacey trim nonsense looks how I want it to:

As modeled by my friend Ashley in her riding boots. I swear she has the tiniest feet in all of christendom.

Well, I never claimed to own the place. Even someone who rents an apartment calls that their home. This forum is merely one of the first forums I ever signed up for, in the early days of my online experience.

Comic con is always an unknown. Money or no money, we shall see. Even last year was a struggle, but I am hoping on it.

:confusedThe Gathering Of The Mad Hatters!!! I like the sound of thiat....:love

Maybe we could re-enact the Locker scene? Oh wait! Wrong costume!

Back on topic!!

Anyone got a good source for 12 small brass domed buttons for the vest? I found some but they are hollow and have a strange texture on the surface. Most of the sources that I have found are too big!!!:angry

Padawan, I'd deffintly be in for one if you make another! :D

Chad, nice pants dude...But the first thing I thought of was "Dang, Chad has tiny feet." :lol

see were all friends here

now Chad i love that lace
is it made out of what i thinks its made of:love

Jodo i will totally make you one if you want
i have a butt load of stuff to make them
so PM me if your interested

as for the Gathering of Hatters
i have to keep stressing that Chad and i are having a Wonderland Picnic on the Saturday of Comic-Con
it will be a Pot-Luck so bring food and drink to share as well as a blanket to increase the size of our sitting area
Acme you are welcome to come, as is everyone who will be at con
it would be huge amounts of fun so let me or Chad know if your attending
it will most likely be around 4 at the grassy field just behind the convention building

and if you didn't get your ticket for Saturday, who cares come anyway ^^

Buggah! Where are you folks finding this wonderful lace!? :confused

Not that it matters NOW because the last thing I want to do before the Premiere is to redo the pants!!!

But for Halloween perhaps!!!

Anyone? Bueller?

I don't know where you guys find anything you use. :lol :p ;)

If it ain't at Walmart, it aint around here. :lol :lol :lol

:lol This thread went as mad AS a Hatter today!!!

Soul, I want some of that Upelkuchen! nom nom nom. Perhaps I will buy some in the near future once one of my Big Alice's are done...

Chad, AWESOME lace on the pants!!! And I know what you mean about cameras and colours. :( I took a picture of some of the trim on Trav's new coat and yet again, it still comes out red. Not as bright as before, but not as purple as I'd like...

Acme, are you going to be selling your patches again?? As with Padawan, I was going to buy one for Trav but couldn't afford it at the time. :( Hoping you'll have some more produced so I can snag one of those in the future, too!

As for updates, I am at my happiest moment today. The coat is FINISHED! ... well... except for the cuffs and bottom hem and trim and aging...but that's the fun stuff so I don't consider that anything to 'work' on. :)

Only 20 days left!! No pressure or anything! :lol

Have your tried taking some non-flash studio shots Aelynn? The flash makes a big difference in colors. Try to take your pictures in some natural lighting or have a tripod mounted cam and leave the aperture open longer to get some really nice indoor shots.

hey Panda (that's my girlfriend, its just shorter to say her name) and i were playing with my wig last night
and we did some trimming and some brushing
and more trimming, and shaping
and well the end result
a pile of red curls on the ground and this

Padawan, nice job! It looks HUGE in that first pic but it looks like it fits perfect under the hat. Remember to keep some of that leftover hair for the eyebrows!! :D

I'm SO excited for our new wig...it's an amazing colour! I think I'm going to do a billion small braids in it and dunk it in hot water to give it the crimped look. If that doesn't work, I'll just melt it with a flat iron so it frizzes uncontrollably and permanently. >D So it better co-operate the nice way! I'm just a little scared of cutting it. I know I can do it, I just have an irrational fear of cutting of long lengths of hair...probably spawned from a really bad post-breakup haircut that made me look like a soccer mom. o_o

Debating whether to go to the movies tonight or to work on the costume...hMMmmmmMm...procrastination orrrrr not?

OH! And I LOVE that little butterfly! ( Jeez. I 'love' a lot of ideas and photos people post here ) It's such a nifty idea and the fact that it looks like it's moving is sure to add a little magical touch to an already fantastical costume! *thumbsup*

I'm kind of almost re-considering Disney in Sept. for SDCC......... @_@

Chad, I am both intimidated and scared. I know it's going to make me want to pull mine apart before the movie. >_<

Good luck!!! Can't wait to see!
