SO I know this is probably really different for this site but hey... it's a prop, I built it, and I'm pretty proud of it for the most part lol. My sister in law loves to go all out for her boys' birthday parties. Always themed and always something for me to make for them. My youngest nephew wanted to do a Thomas the Train party and my dad said we could use one of his riding lawnmowers. They gave me a 5 gallon bucket and told me to make it look like Thomas using that and some sheet metal... yeah that definitely wasn't gonna be good enough lol. So I acquired a blue barrel from a friend, bought some paint and plywood and got some cardboard.
About halfway through the build my sister in law had my nephew call me and he said "it gota moke, I wan moke." He wanted it to smoke lol. So I attached a pvc pipe and bought a cheap bubble gun. Then I realized I didn't have any way to put gas in it so I made a little door on the barrel and cut out a "1" out of wood for a handle. My dad gave me permission to chop a chunk of the hood of the actual lawnmower off so we could get to the tank. I tried, not very successfully, to make his face out of paper mache, couldn't think of a different way other than a flat face painted on at the end of the barrel. Didn't like the flat painting idea.
The day of the party we attached a trailer and gave kids rides in it all day. They loved trying to get the bubbles that came out of the pipe. If I can find the few pictures that exist of it at the day of the party I'll post them too.
