Hi! all.
Let me show you my recent work.:)

This is an aerial fighter appearing in Japanese TV animation "LASTEXILE - Fam, The Silver Wing -", and it is called "VAN SHIP".

“VANSHIP’s power unit is called Claudia Unit, which generates steam propulsion by heating a fluid(Claudia Fluid)made from Claudia ore, a water-soluble fluorescent blue ore.

I have not watched this animation so far, but built this fighter because I liked this retro design very much.

The fuselage which appeared in the animation was painted in red with white stripe, but I airbrushed it with Mr. metal color brass and copper so on.

The searchlights and the fog lights of the front section, navigation lights on each wings and a rear lamp are lighted with LED and optical fiber.

This kit is about 1/72 scale, a little bit small, but good kit and very fun to build!

Thanks for looking.;)

Very cool! I have not heard of this TV show before, but that's a very cool design.
Your color choices look excellent.

Hi! superjedi :)

Thank you for comment.
Yeah! I love this design.
You might be able to watch this anime in youtube.:thumbsup

Last Exile was a gorgeous show. I haven't seen the sequel yet, looking forward to it. Kobayashi design FTW!

Some of the vanships are like 1930s Auburn boat-tail speedsters, with wings. Er, not with wings, but you know what I mean.

So cool!
speachless!
this is a whole line of awsome models to build!
And the copper finish, I've seen an 1920-30's Czechoslovak car, similar to this one. And it's the same class.

That is SLICK! It has a very retro/Steampunk look to it. LOVE IT

Hi! SofaKing01-san!

I'm happy you like vanship design!
Yes! That's SLICK! lol:thumbsup

Very cool! Looks kinda light the fighters in The Chronicles of Riddick

Hi! kwalsh0000-san!

Hi! Nwerke-san!

You have seen Last Exile!
And you know about MAKOTO KOBAYASHI!
Wow! I have thought nobody knows about this animation outside JAPAN.
I'm very impressed about that.:love

Yeah! I got what you mean!
"1930s Auburn boat-tail speedsters, with wings".
That's it! I agree with you!:thumbsup

OMG! I haven't seen an 1920-30's Czechoslovak car!
Anyway, thank you for your warm comment!:)

Atom-san, yes, my wife bought the DVD box set of the series as soon as it came out. You put a beautiful finish on that model, I must say. I must pick up some of these kits myself.

I love Deco and Dieselpunk SF design. I have a collection of Mr. Kobayashi's books, and Mr. Yokoyama's. While they are not "household names" they certainly have their fans outside Japan. :)

I am a fan of the show, and loved the airships. Your finish looks great! I would love a kit of the Vanship.

Does your wife like Japanese animation? Umm...she must be a good wife.lol
I have two books of Mr.Kobayashi.
HYPER WEAPON 2009 and HYPER WEAPON 2011.

Mr.Kobayashi took part in the space battleship YAMATO 2199 as a set designer and also took part in YAMATO 2220 as a mechanic designer.
BTW, I love the design of Cosmo zero in YAMATO 2199.:thumbsup

Hi! seven-san!

Wow! You know this anime!:)

Nwerke-san!:)

Does your wife like Japanese animation? Umm...she must be a good wife.lol

Her name is Hanako and, er, she does like it A BIT. :lol She's not actually Japanese, she's Malaccan, but her grandmother was.

I have two books of Mr.Kobayashi. HYPER WEAPON 2009 and HYPER WEAPON 2011.

Oh wow, he's still doing them? He's been putting those out since the early 80s or late 70s as I recall. Friends of mine have the early ones, I have none of that series but do have his art books from Dragon's Heaven and a few other bits and pieces. Love his style. One day (haha) I will sculpt myself a large Shaian from DH. :)

BTW, I love the design of Cosmo zero in YAMATO 2199.:thumbsup

Me too. Have not bought the kit, tempted though.

Hi! Nwerke-san!

Your wife's name, HANAKO, is very familiar here in JAPAN!:)
Now I understand why you interested in Japanese anime.
Please tell your wife you have a Japanese friend in RPF recently.

Hey! I found the animation of DRAGON'S HEAVEN in youtube!
This is almost 100% moebius style!
I have never seen before.. awesome...
The drawings are very detailed...must have been a hell to animate this.....

BTW, I bought the model kit of COSMO-ZERO α1 and α2 last week.

After I finish the VESPA, a very small aircraft in LAST-EXILE,
I'm gonna post WIP of COSMO-ZERO α1 and α2:thumbsup

Hi! all! :)

This little flight machine is called "Vespa".

It's a very small flight machine such as the motor scooter of the reality world.

Vespa is a small vanship which belong to "Fam", a brilliant girl from the freedom-loving Kartoffel Sky Pirates.

"Fam" and "Giselle"-she is co-pilot of "Fam", the two vespa pilots, who specialized in preying on aerial warships.
