Thinking about casting a metal laser screwdriver

Hello all, ive heard that the toy of the laser screwdriver is a decent size when compared to the actual prop. As no one will be making one of these anytime soon, i was thinking of taking the toy apart, recreating some of the pieces using aluminum tubing (such as the 3 emitter pieces) as well as casting a few of the other parts in a low temperature metal (namely the pommel end, pieces of the control box, and the emitter head)

what are your thoughts on the matter?

kursosawa, will you making a run of these or a one of? If you have plans for a group order I would be very interested...

Im very close to finishing my Gandalf staff run (about bloody time!) So depending on costs and interest, A run might be possible.

From the looks of things, This will be made primarily out of aluminum as i dont think i can afford brass as the moment. some of the parts will be painted in as close to a brass color as i can find. The main part of the emitter head, silver part of the switch, as well as the pommel from the white section all the way to the tip will be cast in a low temperature white metal. The main part of the body will be made from various tubes of aluminum. more details to come...ill be updating this thread as i get the parts made.

I spoke to someone at Gallifrey ONE a while ago, and they told me that the crackle plainted bits on the sonic and laser screwdrivers were actually pieces of Tardis Coral. Can anyone verify this? If this is so, ill be casting this piece is something other than white metal.
