THEWRAPOFCONS bad person to deal with

I know he reads the threads here. The last time I posted about him, he contacted me within 30 minutes. He is local. I'm not sure I still have his address, but he's only 15 or 20 minutes from me.

well, I got my stuff from him today...as promised. it all looks great...7 hawkeye arrow heads...I will post pics later if interested.

Took a bit of time, but all taht was discussed in emails to each other and he was always fast to return a reply....

Well I'm just going to ask since I'm an RPF member, and because this affects my forum the LOH...

1. What is owed:

2. To whom:

3. How long:

No one?

Have you read this thread all the way through? There are other issues besides what is owed. Which is why this thread is titled "THEWRAPOFCONS is a bad person to deal with"

Such as:

1) Is it Max, Kelly, or Cliff? When I bought an item the paypal was to "Max", when I got a refund for said item paypaled back it was "Cliff" with a totally different last name.

2) Avoiding a forum if you still have issues/customers on said forum.

3) Asking for a refund and getting the silent treatment or a runaround. This happened to me and other members. I wasn't satisfied with the product I got, and wanted to send it back for a refund. Instead "Max" kept insisting we do a trade, or that I pick an item of his. I kept asking straight up for a refund. But I kept getting excuses, like sending the item back first so he could sell it again and get the money to refund me. Which I called out that he had sold a bunch of items recently and that paypal takes the money from a bank account or credit card. After that PM and about 3 weeks, I got my refund.

4) Excessive waiting time for items. For some people up to 14 MONTHS.

And then stuff like this:

<div class='quotetop'>(UFO @ Jun 9 2006, 02:50 PM) </div>
i purchased an ambassador kosh costume from him a few months ago....an item that was already in hand and would "ship in two days"...
after something like a month, i contacted him and he said it was held up cause it wouldnt fit in his car but would go out "in a few days" ...
thats when the communication stopped...wouldnt return email, or PM....
after a few more WEEKS of waiting i filed a paypal claim...magically, two days after i filed my complaint, it was shipped.....
after i got it, and opened it, it horrified me.
it was damaged (not from shipping) cracking, falling apart, and overall POORLY constructed.....i requested a refund and was denied...(he claimed he told me of the damage...which he DIDNT).so now im stuck with a $350 P.O.S that i have to try and salvage to make it look decent....which is gonna cost a lot of money....'
i'll NEVER deal with TWoC again....and i wouldnt reccomend him if someone payed me to.
if you have outstanding orders, that were "gonna ship" and havent....i'd suggest filing a complaint.

<div class='quotetop'>(Jedifyfe @ Jun 12 2006, 08:08 PM) </div>
Well,
Max has taken about $350 of mine and I never got anything...it's been about a year and a half now, but he calls me periodically to give me minor updates....I shall not judge quite yet.

I got totally hosed a few yrs ago from THEWRAPOFCONS. He screwed me really bad on a "big ticket" trade deal & sent a bunch of junk in a box instead of the said items. When I voiced this a few yrs ago, it just fell to the wayside. I would stay clear of him.

I also had a rade with him and it took forever for him to keep his end of the trade, when I got what I traded for it was busted and not due to shipping. I repaired the damage but will never deal with him again.

It has been some time now...a year or so....but I too had a problem with Max. I shared a booth with him at a plano con. he agreed to pay half of the booth rental...never did.It went on for months...with nothing. he finaly said he would send me some kryptonite necklaces and the such from smallville. I was affraid that was going to be the best i could get from him...so I said ok. He told me he would ship it that week. I called him a week later andhe said it would go out the next day. A month and a half later, he mailed it to me. Max seems like a nice guy in person and was fun to talk to...however...communication and service with him was lacking to say the least.

I met Max a few years ago at San Diego Comic Con after having a pretty bad experience from him on getting some cyclops visors and X logos done up. While the communication was decent (until it really mattered), the end product could not be used, nor did it make it by the date that we had agreed on.

Max seems like a really nice guy who appears disorganized and in way over his head. Although I can't say that I haven't had that experience with other prop guys

<div class='quotetop'>(teecrooz @ Jul 1 2006, 08:04 AM) </div>
If you'll notice, he is only active on board where he hasn't yet screwed people over. He's been called out here and hasn't replied since June 2. He got called out on replicaprops and hasn't replied since May.
He tried to offer casts of a $30 found item (Losts Mary statue) for $75 bucks until people found out.

Look how many people in this thread have or are still having a problem with him. The fact that he is replying on other boards is what concerns me the most. He obviously has time to address this issue if he can handle customer service issues and sell more itmes on League of Heroes.

Clearly there are issues...

Berry

With respect...
Clearly you are correct, there are issues.

Some people don't want to deal with him anymore for their own reasons...that's up to the individual obviously.
How many here don't want to deal with larger prop companies for whatever reason?
People SHOULD be able to voice their opinion on ANY vendor.

Bottom line is:

1. What is owed:

2. To whom:

3. How long:

With respect...People should be able to voice their opinions WITHOUT having their IP checked to see where they live. That in itself is a pretty inexcusable action, which if expanded further could possibly be seen as a way to silence opinion rather then allow it....

Well...if you're going to check IP, at least get the location right.

And for the record, I'm owed nothing, but I don't like to see fellow members slammed for following up on their investment. I guess it's like this quote I read somewhere: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Teecrooz is a good man.

Brin,

Dude, no offense boss but pull your head out.

There are issues?

When it comes to people such as the TWOC, I always refer to my "The 100 Rule Checklist For Being a Horrible Dealer and Still Get Business" by Charles (Chip) Wallace.

_________________________________________________________________

***Note: direct quotes from this thread are in italics.***

Rule #1: Always be pleasant and charasmatic.

Max seems like a nice guy in person and was fun to talk to...however...communication and service with him was lacking to say the least.

Check.

Rule #5: Make the comment that you aren't a full time business and you do this for a hobby.

"As I have said in one of my post I dont do this as a buisness, but for fun, and this takes a backseat to work"

Check.

Rule #10: Talk about how your real life work is always getting in the way of the hobby.

for the last year I have worked 12 hour days 7 days a week for allstate I had some time between storms at the first of the year wich I used to get majority of the bugs out of molds.

Check.

Rule #12: Be very disorganized to the point that you can't effectively communicate when you want.

Max seems like a really nice guy who appears disorganized and in way over his head

Check.

Rule #28: Always take on more then you can handle.

Agreed, it's the "too many irons in the fire" syndrome.

check.

Rule #54: Maintain the illusion that you are doing work by promising updates and photos.

all is well, I just need to add the slats on the front and paint it, I will post pics this week. -Max"

Check.

Rule #59: Promise to give or actually give out fake tracking numbers. Who cares if they inquire about them. They'll get their stuff eventually.

My problem with him was that he said he's shipped it at a certain date, kept delaying getting me a tracking number, and actually shipped it 3 weeks later.

Check.

Rule #61: Give hope by promising a "special" commissioned project will be doe within a few weeks.

I am thnking about 3 weeks timm I am done and its molded. -Max

Check.

Rule #74: Tell anyone who purchased from you to email you. That way, you can claim that you haven't received any communication. If they still harass you, reference Rule #73

So I can say all of the orders from here will be taken care of at the latest by the 8th. if you have any questions my e-mail is thewrapofcons@aol.com

Check.

Rule #73: Make it clear that you don't frequent a board anymore and that your customers need to email you.

See the LOH message board for examples.

Check.

Rule #81: Make sure that you use an AOL email account. All dealers who like to have bad relationships do.

if you have any questions my e-mail is thewrapofcons@aol.com

Check.

Rule#85: If it starts to heat up, start communicating better. Don't worry, it's only for a short period of time.

Finally heard from Max.

Updating my status with Max. Here are the emails I have sent and recieved with him:

Took a bit of time, but all taht was discussed in emails to each other and he was always fast to return a reply....

Check.

Rule #89: Always fund your next project with the money from the previous project. No worries if you still haven't sent the stuff out.

you want a refund I will give you one however it will be when I have the
funds in my account, so I would think you would have your refund within a
month

Check.

Rule #92: When the heat gets to be too much, maintain a stash for shippign product quickly. Make sure that it is your best work to keep the natives from wanting to roast you alive.

well, I got my stuff from him today...as promised. it all looks great...7 hawkeye arrow heads...I will post pics later if interested.

check.

Rule #98: If a thread starts appearing on you every few months, prepare to move on to greener pastures. Your ability to scam at your current home is coming to an end.

Is it me or do threads about TWOC pop up about every 6 months?

Check.

Rule #100: If it gets too hot where you set up camp, strike camp and move on to other areas. You'll always find somewhere to plant and hock your wares. Continue to repeat until you get called on it.

Has anyone else gotten any product?

I've noticed that WoC has been very active at the League of Heroes board.

Check.

So Brin,

Ya gettin the drift mano? The dude's a scammer who follows the EDC Playbook to a "T". Like I said, pull your head out of the dirt and think about it why dontcha?

Brin: You are hypocrite.

You had a problem with one of our members joining your forum because YOU thought he just wanted to stir up trouble.

Yet you joined this forum to do the exact same thing

What right do you have to ask 1. What is owed: 2. To whom: 3. How long:?

Are you TWOC representative?

If not stay out of this thread.

All Juno did was try to warn you guys about TWOCs sketchy business practices but you all would rather look the other way.

Well consider yourself warned and when a thread like this one pops up on YOUR forum (and it will) I will join just to be one of the people that get to say:

WE TOLD YOU SO

Ummmmm........

Dave......

He's been a member since 2002. Keep on debten Bman.

I have no dog in the fight. I did get my merchandise but I did think it took way too long for it to be shipped. Bottom line, I got mine.

Brin - I for one appreciate what you're trying to do. It's a shame that some won't "let" you help.

Doug

wow...I am flattered that my quotes were taken to good use....I think...

Anyway, I would love a complete copy of that 100 rules thing..seems good as I have been burned a few times. Both were luckily saved and I wasnt out too much.

PLUS, I am not totally sure what a missing list will do. And does it really matter if we get one done. If max wants to get the work done he will, if not I am sorry for those who are not getting you r items...Really it sucks and I feel bad. I am sure we have all been there.

I mis-read his post, I thought he joined just to post on this topic.

Doug, what do you think he's trying to do?

David

I honestly think Brin is trying to help. I've met Brin in the past and he seems like a good guy. I think he just wants to see who is owed what and then forward that information along to Max in an attempt to resolve the issues our members are having here.

You're a pretty quick one ain't ya?
I felt like since it pertained to the security of the LOH, I'd like to know:
1. What is owed: 2. To whom: 3. How long :confused
So that I might go back to MY forum and deal with this evil toy maker (who in IMO is a guy who likes to make stuff that people like to own, and I've had no personal problems with).
And which RPF member did I ban?
BTW...Anytime you'd like to join, we'd love to have ya, whether you have to say "I told you so" or not.

Also, thanks to Doug and others.

Because I wanted to.
AND...because I thought he might've been someone else who likes to jump into trouble threads.
It's what admins do, but they don't usually tell you about it.
I actually got 3 different locations for his IP, so I still don't know who he is.
I was hoping he was in MS. cause we don't have enough props and costumes here.
Anyway...
