THEWRAPOFCONS bad person to deal with

<div class='quotetop'></div>
If your affairs are so complex and convoluted that you can't remember the people who've paid you, you shouldn't be selling anything.[/b]

Agreed, it's the "too many irons in the fire" syndrome. We've seen it happen to many people and it even happens to the best of us sometimes. But once a pattern emerges, you have a serious problem. :confused

It has been some time now...a year or so....but I too had a problem with Max. I shared a booth with him at a plano con. he agreed to pay half of the booth rental...never did.It went on for months...with nothing. he finaly said he would send me some kryptonite necklaces and the such from smallville. I was affraid that was going to be the best i could get from him...so I said ok. He told me he would ship it that week. I called him a week later andhe said it would go out the next day. A month and a half later, he mailed it to me. Max seems like a nice guy in person and was fun to talk to...however...communication and service with him was lacking to say the least.

I met Max a few years ago at San Diego Comic Con after having a pretty bad experience from him on getting some cyclops visors and X logos done up. While the communication was decent (until it really mattered), the end product could not be used, nor did it make it by the date that we had agreed on.

Max seems like a really nice guy who appears disorganized and in way over his head. Although I can't say that I haven't had that experience with other prop guys

A buddy of mine who doesn't have an account here is still waiting on a X1 Cyclops visor.

Looks like "Max" is completely ignoring the RPF right now since he hasn't been on since June 3rd but has posted since then on the League of Heroes forum.

Well, I've talked with him, and I got send a tracking number today. So still good in my book.

No contact from Max since June 3rd. He hasn't posted since June 2nd. Max, forget the prop I paid for in May of 2005. I want a $75 refund sent to my paypal account. teecrooz@hotmail.com

You said you are on the road and busy at work, but it should be very easy for you to take two minutes to send me that money.

I wish I had never done business with Max. I've suffered nothing but disappointments. I thought I might be able to keep tabs on the situation since he's local. Well, I'm sick of it.

I'm waiting on 1 kryptonite ore bar, 1 red k necklace, 1 kent box, 1 stand for krypto inhaler and 2 smallvie shop s's. Last a hear from him was a few weeks back when he asked for my address.

Boy am I tempted to screencap the PM's we had back and forth while I was trying to get my money back from that X-Men jacket deal.

Is moderation going to step in on any of this? Get him to explain his actions? Limit his Junkyard use?

He's on the League of Heroes Messageboard right now... (http://p072.ezboard.com/btheleagueofheroes) so obviously he has been online recently... to busy to come to the RPF or just avoiding it altogether? Hmmm...

They will and are.

He is not to sell any thing in the Junkyard and I am sure that once everybody gets taken care of He will be banned once and for all.

Good Riddence.

Seeing as he isn't responding I had a couple of questions.

Since I paid for it through paypal in May of 05, am I still able to open a paypal dispute?

If not, I paid with either my debit or credit card. Does anyone know if a credit card or bank fraud claim is an option?

Paypal disputes are only "valid" 90 days after you pay. Although you can try and notify them through their phone number (which I think you can find at sites like www.paypalsucks.com ) and customer service...

If it is your debit card you can talk to your bank, and if it's a credit card you should be able to file a charge back, but I don't think Paypal likes that too much.

You can also do what they did in the BowJunkie thread, file a compliant through his state. You could probably search for mail fraud options as well.

A newbie here. Sorry to bump a semi-old thread here, I've been watching this thread for awhile (my friend BLAST has been posting for me) and just wanted to repeat that I have an Cyclops X1 visor being made by Max. However the guy is VERY fast to reply to my emails and has even told me that I'd have pictures of progress within the week. So I mean, he doesn't seem to be dodging me or anything. So far I fully trust the guy and believe that he'll send what is promised. I guess time will tell :)

same here guys

i have also orderd a bit of kit from him i telegram him once a week and he always gets back to me
and from what i see on the LOH he is getting the kit out to the guys and gals
and they are all impressed with what he does

i think some times a few guys get a bad deal or dont get what they expected and then threads like this happen

this happend to me a year or two back but mainly here in germany

dont get me wrong these sort of threads are great so that the real black sheep can get slaughterd

wrap of cons seems to be doing ok and fair deals

If you'll notice, he is only active on board where he hasn't yet screwed people over. He's been called out here and hasn't replied since June 2. He got called out on replicaprops and hasn't replied since May.
He tried to offer casts of a $30 found item (Losts Mary statue) for $75 bucks until people found out.

Look how many people in this thread have or are still having a problem with him. The fact that he is replying on other boards is what concerns me the most. He obviously has time to address this issue if he can handle customer service issues and sell more itmes on League of Heroes.

To be fair, teecrooz, he wasn't just offering casts for $75. His statue was (supposedly) going to be repainted in more screen accurate colors. That was where the extra costs were coming from.

I've got no dog in this fight, but the guy seems to have enough problems without making things up or exaggerating his offenses.

I wish everybody good luck in getting what they're owed (or at least a refund).

There is no need for me to lie or exaggerate. He was also going to offer unpainted ones for around $50. I still have the PM with the price quote.

<div class='quotetop'></div>
The unpainted version will be on the lower end of the $50-75 that I mentioned before.

<div class='quotetop'>
Hi Max,

I was just writing to see how much the unpainted version would be.

Thanks,
Chris
