Ok, I log into http://therpf.com

Sometimes someone will link something and it has http://www.therpf.com I have to log into that also. Is there a reason for two addresses to the same domain?

Click on them and see if one makes you log in.

It happens because when you log in the cookie is set for whichever URL that you used. When you attempt to access the other URL and the cookie doesn't match, the system asks you to log in.

We are aware of it, and it will be taken care of at some point.

I did too, I was just curious why not have a redirect. As long as they are aware of the 'issue'.

It will only happen with those areas that you have to be a member to see, like off-topic etc.

Simple solution, just add this to the main .htaccess file on the RPF server, 30 second fix...


RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [L,R]


This will redirect any therpf.com links to www.therpf.com and force everyone that has a therpf.com cookie to get a www.therpf.com cookie... In short it will become seamless...
