The Wrestler 2008. The Event Poster. Help needed.

I'd love to have a screen accurate copy of the full sized poster and there is only a flyer sized version available online but it's incomplete and not 100% accurate.
Have found a place locally to print the full sized poster for a very reasonable price but need some help to get all the details correct.

If someone has the 4K version of this movie or can access it on a streaming service I need to clarify what a few of the words are on the poster. I will gladly send you a copy of the finished poster in appreciation. I dont have 4K equipment and the 1080p grabs just dont cut it.

The first thing I need certainty on is the last line of words just under the ROH logo on the top right of the poster. Timestamp in movie 0:50:27

I also need to clarify what the word is just under the 7:00PM SHARP line is. I assume its ALSO SCHEDULED TO APPEAR but not 100% sure.

Here is another grab with the same line if the above timestamp isnt clear enough. Timestamp in movie 1:36:02

Lastly, this would just be a bonus if possible but a 4K screenshot of this ID tag, particularly the small star and writing in the bottom left corner would be great as the 1080p grab is not crisp enough to make out. Timestamp in movie 1:02:53

Hey, this was kinda fun! Now, I’ll say up front, 4k would probably make this easier, but I decided to give it a shot using the full-res blu-ray rip I recently made of this movie. (Also just looked and it doesn’t appear that there is a 4k disc release. As for streaming I imagine it’d be hard to go frame by frame, and bitrate might be an issue as far as obscuring these details.)

The results were varied- even going frame by frame, it’s difficult to get absolute clarity due to both camera motion and, in the case of the flyer, hand motion.

But I think I’ve got answers.

We’ll start with the upper right. Flyer definitely says “ring of honor,” which makes sense under the acronym ROH. Also note that there’s a sort of 3D affect of the ROH lettering on the flyer. What I’m not 100% sure on is whether the words are capitalized, ie “Ring of Honor” vs “ring of honor”. Honestly looks more like it’s lowercase, though that’s something that 4k would assist with, if that’s ever released. Though with how gritty and grainy this film is, by design, I’m not sure.

Here’s the best screen I could capture- bearing in mind it’s just an iPhone shot of a plasma tv. You’ll have to believe me that some of these are easier to discern in person, where physically moving your head around can help. Lending credence to the idea that it’s lowercase is the fact that it doesn’t really fit with the logo as well as the poster version (which we’ll get to,) instead it seems to line up with the size/font/starting point of “in association with” up above the ROH.

Ok, this one took a little more time to figure out, because it’s not the logo of an existing wrestling company, it looks to just be random blue text under or next to a star. But again, the right frame can show us things:

Is it clear from just those? Like the rest it’s easier in person, but it says “Service First”, and is definitely partially written over the top of the star. The manager guy has the same Star on his badge when he shows up.

Ok, home stretch. This one looks like a design of some sort and not text from the screenshot you have here, but using the full-resolution rip, we get this:

So we can see now that it also says something, and knowing what the flyer says we can infer it also says “Ring of Honor,” only this time it’s “white” or unprinted text, on a block of printed black. These are the least clear of all of the captures I got using the iPhone, but it definitely fits. It’s not possible to tell exactly what each letter is but we can infer that it’s the same as the flyer, and what I can tell with more certainty is that we have 3 words with 4 letters, then 2, then 5. Also note that where we had a 3D affect on the flyer, here the ROH is just the 2D letters.

Googling found me this old logo for ROH (a real org operating in the area where the film takes place), with what might be the appropriate font (note the way the right edges of the R and H are lower on the acronym for both poster and flyer.)

Hopefully this helps- if you need something else I can always try to help. And no, I don’t need a copy or anything, this was a fun bit of detective work all by itself.

@Jagjaguwar. Wow, just wow. You just made it possible for this project to produce a 100% accurate replica with the added bonus of a 100% accurate name badge. I cant thank you enough. My mind is blown that you can get so much information from a phone picture taken off screen.
My offer still stands if you would like a poster and or a name tag. Just PM me.

The name tag is printed on a blank credit card rather than something laminated. If anyone knows where I can get a small amount of these made, it would also be greatly appreciated.

Happy to help- for the name tag it does look like it’s not laminated, but rather the sort of material driver’s licenses are made out of (or like the ID badge I use for work.) My work ID has the same kind of hole that the movie one does, but on the short side. I think the size/shape of that hole is pretty standardized, and could be done manually by picking up an “ID badge hole punch” from Amazon or elsewhere.

I imagine that there are probably a fair number of options if you searched on Etsy for “custom ID badge,” but there might also be people here who could do it. I don’t think they’re too difficult to make, you just need blank cards, a template to print, and a type of printer that can handle plastic cards, but my guess is that most of the commercial operations that make them are going to want minimum order numbers that are pretty high. Etsy can be good for small scale custom work like that, in my experience.
