The Wolverine (Post-release)

I hate seeing people use boxoffice numbers as a point of argument. When I went to see it over half the theater was small children, under the the age of 10. They probably had no idea what they were watching (example being the one kid who kept reading the end credits outloud yelling 'Japanese guy! Japanese guy! English guy! Japanese guy!) and were only there because their dad dragged the whole family there. So half of that showings earnings were from children. Speculation, of course, but you can see my point.

I for one would pick the Xmen trilogy over the Spiderman trilogy any day. Thank God they've rebooted that disaster.
 
Until I see a better source than the National Enquiror, I'm not holding my breath.
 
I found myself very disappointed with The Wolverine come the end credits. At the very least the after credits sequence did serve to somewhat ease my suffering. I had hoped that there would be a final battle between a rejuvinated Yashida, yes; but nothing like what we were given. I would very much liked to have seen a battle more in the vein of that in which we say Logan goes toe to toe with Yashida's heir, not a mechanical armoured suit. It was as if I had bought a ticket to see the sequel to Real Steel, not The Wolverine. I would have loved to see the Silver Samurai, but more as he appeared in the funeral sequence. A more traditional Japanese Samurai approach, as it was. They created a beautiful suit of armour to get a solid 10 seconds of screen time, what a damn waste. You could imagine a real Japanese samurai in a traditional amour, made from solid adamantium would have been enough to push Logan to his limits, would you not? How do these people get these jobs, whether it be writer, producer or what have you. Seriously?

I actually enjoyed the movie. Living and working in Japan, I saw a lot of places I've been (like Ueno station), and some cultural things were interesting to see from Logan's perspective. Was it Shakespeare? No, but it was worth what I paid to see it!

And what is this about the 3D bundle being the only way to get the unrated version of the film? Really? It won't be on the regular, 2-D blu-ray?
 
Nope, available in the 3D bundle only, and to confuse the matter, only on the 2D disc that comes with it.

If it was just for the very very last few moments, they coulda just kept it in the movie. Hope to see the full outfit then see how it looks in different colors
 
Explains why the original image was taken down shortly after being revealed. Kinda ruined the surprise of the deleted scene.

Anyone know if the box is based on a cultural item or perhaps it is even a found item?
 
Probably just a found item, I've seen the like before (in Japan, oddly enough.. hehe). But I can't remember what they were used for... the trick would be figuring out what they normally hold and looking from there.
 
I truly don't understand why the bonus scene with this uniform wasn't in the final cut. So awesome. Is it on the DVD?
 
Thomas Jane did his own "fan" made Punisher... Hugh should make a vid with some Comic-inspired suits :D 10 15 mins would do haha
 
movie started very good, but after the end was aweful! Crap in my opinion, Samurai Mech from Adamantium, the Cut of Wolvies claws, the return of his bone claws (which were cut in the previous movie)

I mean come on, why they are doing this kind of bs? there is enough content in the comics to present a good story whithout raping the story.

The did this with the Xmen 3, IM3, Batman3, its so sad...
