So like most good costumers, we're scrambling the weekend of the con to get everything finished! We've come aways but it seems like the leather shoulder patch and the eye patch may not be done tonight. So this may be a pre-injury governor.
Anyways, we bought the holster from eBay that Sir Angus suggested: New Don Hume Black Leather Beretta Gun Holster Police | eBay
And we also got the airsoft gun I indicated in the earlier post.
So far so good. More pics later.

I was actually going to be doing a Governor build myself- Actually if your looking for that eyepatch, until other ones come out, I found someone on Ebay who is making leather ones for 10 bucks.
And its such a shame that the vest is that much $$ (must keep in notes, when the epidemic happens, GO FOR THE STUFF that is high and pricey)
Actually my question in regards for his attire is what kind of coat does he wear, when he was in the arena with Daryl and Merle, and when he was pursuing Andrea in the warehouse?
That to me sells that sinister dictator like role the Governor has taken, versus when we first see him in the series

Unfortunately, we were in such a rush to complete the earlier version of the Governor that we have not even taken time to try and ID that jacket. If anyone else has already ID'd it, feel free to weigh in!

Ok, i'm finally getting around to posting some pics of my buddies Governor build from the HorrorHound weekend. We took a piece of lambskin (leftover's from Feezle's Anakin build) and use fabric glue to attach it to the shoulder of the shooting vest. Also added a standard eye patch. Hoping to authenticate the eyepatch with some leather down the road. So here's what we got so far.

i dont know if this has been mentioned before but the holster he uses is a US GI bianchi international beretta holster. you can some times find them on ebay but you can order them right from the bianchi site as they still make them.

We actually went with the Don Hume version which works ok except for the fact that the snap will not close over top of the airsoft gun. Perhaps the Bianchi would be a better fit with the airsoft gun.

I have been looking for this make as well. If you decide to pull out any of the details from the last few episodes when taking the prison...the Gov uses a Steyr AUG rifle.

We had him at our TWD photoshoot - so awesome! General Q re: the Airsoft pistol replica, which otherwise would be totally good for cons and such - it looks from that eBay listing like they don't ship to Canada. (which may be understandable to some extent, but no less exasperating in these circumstances) Does anyone know of a link which might, though, or some way to wrangle it so that we don't run afoul of anything? Because argh.

I wish I could have found the real vest but even if I did I am sure I would not want to pay the price they ask for it. lol
So, I did a hack job on a thrift store find. Here is the main part of my build.

really love the vest they've used. I think I'm going to look after it as it seems to be very comfortable for daily use.
