I didn't laugh at all. I have nothing against any of the actors, they do a good imitation but it just isn't the same.

The actor playing Moe nailed his voice to a T.

Personally, I would have prefered a period piece in their own element.

I think Will Sasso was the PERFECT casting choice for Curly. I don't have high expectations for this film, but I'll see it anyways, because I love the stooges and looks like fun.

Just thought, how sad it is that it took this long for there to be a Stooges feature!

The real story behind them has been in development hell for years.

Mel Gibson and Keith Moon held the rights at one time if I'm not mistaken

I have that great biopic that was on tv a bunch of years ago on tape, trully a sad story.

I think the original Three Stooges would be proud! that was actually good! :lol

Now if they can just keep the frantic pace all through the film and not get syrupy at the end I'd say they have a winner!!

i like it. lots of slap stick humor that i love about the originals.

my only wish is they would have set the movie in the 30 or 40's instead of today.

    Same here.

Looks like they all put a lot of effort into it... but no.

The REAL guys were on TCM the other day and it was still great.

Nothing about that trailer seemed funny to me. I can't imagine how unbearable the rest of the filler will be!

The one with Michael Chiklis as Curly? I was amazed at how well he did the role (I didn't realize he could be funny) :
Michael Chiklis (Vic Mackey) as Curly ! - Three Stooges movie - YouTube

As for this one, the trailer was better than I had expected. I may see it.

Yep, that is the one. It really captures what I have read about the stooges. The studios did everything they could to keep them broke.

If I close my eyes, I can hear the real Larry, Moe, and Curly in their impressions and I'm super happy to hear that. Like Joe said, I wish it was a period piece. The stooges seem way out of place in 2011.

Does anyone know if Shemp is in the new movie?

Also I don't like chiklis as Curly, he doesn't have the right voice.

    Larry sounded spot on though.

Nope, It's like putting 30's-40's humor into contemporary times with out the context whats happening in the world today. Try "Seinfeld with cellphones" it just doesn't work.
Especially the iPhone joke, maybe if they are coming out of some time machine. Then I'd believe they didn't know what an iPhone was, then I'd laugh.
Nice impersonations- but the characters would be a bit different for today.
I agree it should have been done as a period comedy.

You don't take the three Musketeers and put them out of context, same should be considered here.

Also another way could be the way they did the Brady Bunch movie where the Brady's were somehow still stuck in the 70's and just didn't get they were in present time.

The iPhone may be out of place, but the gag was true to the Stooges. I can totally see Curly doing that.

I was shocked by the trailer. I laughed out loud.

I kinda wish it was a period piece as well.

I have no chance of getting the wife to see this, though. Why do girls hate the stooges so much?

Btw, who was the actress playing Sister Bernice? She looks very familiar to me but I just can't remember what else I've seen her in.

Glad it's not a biopic, looks good.

Was that Sofia Vergara early in the clip?

It'll be worth a rental or the 5.00 bin. I'd rather have had a period piece or some silly scifi thing to get to modern times. I mean they already went to space back in the 40s lol. This is a love it or hate it movie for fans.

For some Odd reason, I'm picturing Tommy Lee Jones as Shemp :p I laughed out loud too. I was pretty much expecting something between getting a tooth drilled without novocaine, or hitting my big toe with a hammer, but I was a bit surprised.

When they walked out on stage at the end, I wept like a schoolgirl.

The trailer looks surprisingly good. For a few moments I forgot I was watching impostors.

Well, I guess I'm gonna be the * in the punch bowl, based on the rest of the positive comments. There was nothing funny in that trailer. I see this being one of the worst movies of the year (whenever it comes out) and being critically panned. The only thing that will keep some people at bay is the fact that its the Farrelly Brothers, and some people believe they can do no wrong. Just my opinion.

This was my thought on it as well...the guy who is moe seems to do a pretty decent job from the small clip we got. And I must admit, I laughed out loud at the one Larry 'singing' shot...even if it was cheap humor ;o)..

I may go see this one now

That's the problem.. it's just imitation. No matter how "right" they get it, it's just a copy. There will only ever be just one set of Three. Not interested in this.

Used to love watching The Three Stooges as a kid.

Well I thought "Dumb and Dumber" had its moments; I'm sure I'll find this funny too. :lol

And I too was going to mention if they might have Shemp and Joe make an appearance.

    Thank youuuuuuuu. :thumbsup :love

Actually, there was Moe, Larry, Curly, Shemp and three Curly Joe's. So it didn't seem so big a deal for the original two members of the stooges to replace people when they passed away.

They almost managed to replace Larry too after he had his stroke. Moe got Emil Stika, who had been their foil in a number of movies, to take over as Larry's "brother". Sitka's prima donna attitude and Moe's death ended the idea.

I was surprised that I actually enjoyed most of the trailer and I agree that the guy who plays Moe really nails the voice.

I don't have too much of a problem with imitation. No one can replace Moe, Larry or Curly any more than anyone could replace the Marx Brothers, et al. It just depends on whether you think it works and it will be interesting to see if they can make the formula work at feature length--that's something that even the original Stooges were unable to do (at least IMO). I always enjoyed when Saturday Night Live or SCTV would do a Stooges sketch (Joe Piscopo and John Candy both did great Curlys).

Still skeptical how they'll pull this off for 90 minutes--as someone said, not even the original trio managed that--but the trailer was quite good and they seem to have captured the spirit of the stooges, even in our contemporary world. (And let's be real, the film would make no money if it was a period piece. The filmmakers had to go contemporary with it to even have a prayer at making a profit.) I laughed a lot and will keep an eye out for this release. I won't see it opening weekend, but I'll be open to spending 12 bucks on it if it has any legs. If it doesn't, I'll gladly wait for cable.

    Hey, I love the Stooges!

I agree. My husband insisted I watch it, just to share the misery. The voices and impressions weren't terrible, but this is dumb. Not only is it set in modern times, it's in color. No thanks, I'll save my money and stay home to watch the real thing.

Holy crap it's not!! I could have swore it was. Several mannerisms seemed like Jim. Oh well it still seemed like a good Moe and I'm still going to see it.
