Oh man - awesome Sean! Thanks for sharing - like your models I'm sure it's so much more amazing in person!

Beautiful work Dave!

It has taken me a while to get to the place where I could write this post. This past January, we lost our home of 27 years in the Altadena Wildfire. My wife Lisa, Albus the Cat and I are fine, and that's all that really matters. Over 9000 families lost their homes in our little community and the devastation is unfathomable. We lost pretty much everything, including my shop with all my tools, modelmaking molds, supplies, parts and ephemera. This model was also lost.

While most of my model project computer files were also lost, fortunately the files for this project were in the Cloud and I've decided to rebuild it. This was probably the nicest Studio Scale model that I ever built and it would be a shame for it not to exist.

It will take a while to build, I have a lot of other things to deal with, like rebuilding our home, but stay tuned, I will post progress as I can

I'm deeply sorry for the profound loss you've endured. It's a relief that your wife and cat are safe...truly, their well-being is what matters most.

Myself, I've encountered many people at the end of their life, none of them placed any importance on material possessions in their final moments. So, IMO, your perspective amidst such devastation is truly admirable.

Thank you for sharing this update. I hope that you're able to rebuild your home and life.

Dave, I was so saddened to hear of your loss. Unfortunately, not the only person I know who lost everything. I'm glad the that you and your family are okay, but I can't imagine losing everything.
If you need any model parts to mold, let me know.
