Seems like Netflix is going to let Benioff and Weiss, the Game of Thrones showrunners, adapt this trilogy for them. Maybe they'll have better luck since the novels are already done.

The IMDB has this project for a couple of years in its database already:

But it has been "in post-production" for a long time now. I'm glad to hear Netflix is picking it up.

Depends on if it's any good or not. They're a business after all and they're not going to continue to throw money at a show if it's not getting views. Altered Carbon is a good example of this, the first season started out strong but the second season was disappointing so they canceled it. With all of the programming they currently have, are working, and looking to acquire, they really can't afford to support duds in the hope that it improves. It would be nice but nobody has the money for that.
