The smallest sound board?

I want to add a looped sound to a prop but I have virtually no space left.
My workable area is about 10mm x 10mm with a height of 3mm.

I was looking at these chips but I don't think they are customisable.

Add to that, I've never ordered from Ali Express, so I'm not sure how safe and reliable they are.

I was thinking that a sound module like the ones in the CO Dr Who Sonic Screwdrivers would be about the right size.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

DFPlayer mini

Cheaper than the Adafruit board (coming at roughly $3.00 USD or so off ebay)
It uses a Micro SD card though.. which is an added cost.. (but still MUCH cheaper than the Adafruit boards!)

Not sure if it will fit inside a Sonic SD though!!!!

Thanks for the suggestion.
Just to clear up any confusion, I'm not looking to use the soundboard in a Sonic, that was just a point of reference for how small an overall sound module and speaker I need.

Thanks again.
