The Rocka-who? My Rocketeer Cosplay Build - WIP

This is coming along quite nicely. There is a book out there called "The Rocket Factory" by Michael Possert jr. He was the guy that created the original pack and helmet way back when. I met him and saw a hero pack at Wonderfest a few years ago. Nice guy and great reference book for this sort of project. Here are a few pics I took from the book. The buckle in the photo came from a company called Lowy Enterprises. I didnt see anything on their website that looked like this but some were close, and a good resource for other projects that need stuff like this. World Leader in Components for the Sewn Good Industries since 1970

Thanks so much for the pictures! But I in fact bought the book as soon as I started the project. It's been super helpful! As all of you have on here.

Dude! Your rocket and helmet look incredible! I am also doing this, though I’m using the Drokle rocket files from thingiverse and I am also stuck on how the hell im gonna attach it to the harness, my plan is to either grab the south beach leather one to start and upgrade later or just use a safety harness from Amazon

Thanks! I wont have another big update for a couple weeks (I've decided to change the harness pattern a little which means I'm waiting on access to my friends laser again. That said you mentioned about not knowing how to attach the harness to the pack. So I thought I would give another little tease for the purposes of explaining how I'm going to do it. Though, this hasn't been tested, and I have no idea what I'm doing. So let this be an inspiration until I can confirm it does actually work...

If you look at this picture below from when I was test fitting an early version of a paper template, you can see how it's mounted. I'm using two rivet holes for the upper mount (the plastic is extra thick there) and on the Veepy pack (not sure about your Drokle) there's holes at the bottom for attaching the boosters in place. I bored those out to the same size as the rivet holes and I'm using M3 bolts with 1" washer on the inside (not shown) and the outside. The Harness cushion will then be attached to that (more to come on that later) covering up those bolts and washers. This will hopefully sandwich the harness to the pack nicely. Anyway, more to come, including the pattern for this which I'm going to release (it's definitely not film accurate, but it should get the job done).

P.S. And yes, I know the rocket is mounted to the wrong side of the harness in this picture. It didn't matter for making sure the holes lined up.
