The Prop Gallery will be bringing original props, costumes and models from classic movies and TV shows such as Doctor Who, Star Wars, Alien, Back To The Future, Indiana Jones and Gerry Anderson series like Space: 1999 and UFO to November’s MCM Birmingham Comic Con and Memorabilia – many of which have never been publicly exhibited before. That’s not all though: The Prop Gallery stand will also play host to a pair of super-talented SFX wizards!
Fans attending the Saturday of the show will get the chance to meet multiple Academy Award-winning special and visual effects designer and director Brian Johnson, best known for his work on sci-fi and fantasy blockbusters such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien, The Empire Strikes Back, Dragonslayer and The NeverEnding Story, as well as much-loved Gerry Anderson shows Thunderbirds and Space: 1999.
Meanwhile, Sunday’s special guest is award-winning special and visual effects expert Mike Tucker, who for many years worked at the BBC Visual Effects Department on hit series such as Doctor Who and Red Dwarf before forming his own visual effects company, The Model Unit. Mike has since gone on to scoop BAFTA Craft awards for his work on the documentary series Hiroshima and the latest series of Doctor Who
